This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Cheapest ever price on the new Philips Hue Smart Button.

Simple device, previous negative reviews due to the high price, seems like they’re correcting that now.

And yes - if you don’t want to pay a bit extra for ‘Hue’ branded stuff, the Ikea smart button will do a very similar job.

These have their uses too, but they’re big and not particularly subtle. In some situations there is a simplicity in having single button for on/off/dimming.

Good price though!

Just by looking on the design of it Ii was pretty sure, that it can be turned left/right to dim/lit the lights. Description of the item let me down completely - usage is very limited. Why on earth the whole HUE family, which is on the market for couple of years already, do es not have a proper switch. 10 seconds wait between lowest / highest settings is a joke these days, when on "normal" switches / bulbs it take a second to turn it min / max.
I guess putting a gyroscope or accelerometer (or whatever required) would make it £50 or more...

They are about half the size of the other dimmer. I bought one for the kids room as I thought a simple switch would be better but I changed it to the dimmer with a mount that covers the original light switch.
Got the dimmer and motion sensor on Boxing Day last year for £32 from Amazon. I wonder if they will bundle any of these this year?

I don’t think there is any remote that works it’s a shame. I have smart things and harmony hub remote to and wants switch a Kasa smart plug on /off
Philips need to rethink their prices in my opinion. These buttons definitely have their uses but not worth any more than £10 in my book. Their new Hue smart plugs are marketed at £29.99 each. I bought a box of three TP Link Kasa smart plugs for £35.

That's the Philips Hue online shop. And they often advertise 2 for 3.

I use hue & xiaomi switches to control kasa smart plugs via homeassistant. You can also do it using smartthings.

Smartthings hub then some sort of button (there are a few that work with ST) - but it's a really long winded and expensive way round. Fine if you're looking to add more smart home equipment but overkill for this use - but I can't think of anything simpler.
I replaced a load of my smart plugs with the £10 ikea ones. These show up in the Hue app and can be included in routines and you can configure the dimmer switch to turn them on.

Was a little bit of a pain as you need the right firmware and a 'steering device' to set them up, so had to buy a bridge and a button.

I wouldn't recommend the Ikea smart button by itself though. Really flaky and battery ran out within weeks.

One useful thing with this Hue button.. Apparently it can turn on different scenes at different times of day every pressed. The dimmer switch doesn't do this.

Instant on/off plus dimming
Can an Ikea Tradfri switch do the same thing?

If you’ve got an Apple device, there’s an app called iconnectHueHD that allows you to massively customise the dimmers. I’ve got mine on different scenes for different times, and also custom fade out times for different rooms / times of the day. You can set it to fade out over like 30seconds if you need and it’s great for late night.

It is instant on/off, but if it is for example dimmed to the max it takes forever to make it bright. With thumb turn switch its almost instant change.
Maybe it's just me, but I do not like that, those 4 buttons on switch from the link could be replaced with one thumb turn switch.
And switch from the deal looks exactly as turn switch, unfortunately it is based on pressing only.

I worked around the slow dimming when holding the button by instaed configuring the 4 buttons on the dimmer switch as off, 33%, 66% 100%. Then for the odd occasion I require more fine grained dimming I just use the iPhone control center or Home app, or shout at Siri or Alexa.

The whole point of the dimmer switch is to have scenes configured to quickly switch between when you want to make a major change to the lighting (e.g. from very dim to very bright). You're not supposed to be holding the dimming buttons down for 5 seconds, you can do it quickly with scenes.

+1 to this!

I have Hue throughout, and with the Dimmers in every room in place of normal switches, which live behind thanks to 3D printed mounts!

I don’t think I’ve ever dimmed my bulbs... at least not using sliders or the dinners on the switch. I just have scenes that I can flick thru with Siri, Harmony, Hue Dimmer etc...

Though most of my scenes are automated based on time of day/brightness and triggered by Hue motion sensors.

Hue now do a smart plug which works as a light in Hue and can be operated by any Hue switch or sensor. Innr also do a cheaper, just as good version.
This button can do different things depending on the time of day. Why is that feature not extended to the other switches?

I never want my bedroom light to go full bright in the middle of the night, for example. C'mon Philips.

Configure your dimmers using iConnectHue (providing you’re on iOS)
