Great price especially the GU10 starter kit
Aww dammit, this means I paid £27 for a dimmer switch in the past week
Likely any echo dot bundles this year?
Are these the latest version of the bulbs?

amazon.co.uk/Phi…OLE These are the latest version of the bulbs, but are slightly expensive. If you have a bridge, then both versions are the same. It's only if you don't have the bridge, that the new ones work (with Bluethooth)

What would be the benefit of Bluetooth when they're already connected via WiFi? Surely it's inferior?

The bluetooth colour GU10s are also smaller, brighter and more energy efficient than the older version:

Anyone know my options for the smaller Edison screw bulbs? E14. Wanna get on the Philip's hue train but looks like there's no deals to be had
Oops
Going to be hard to sell all these Hue Bridges on eBay, should tuck it away in a cupboard until after Christmas!

You're partially right if you already have a Hue bridge. However, if you don't then the new Bluetooth ones work even without the Hue bridge..
Thank you, it's a shame they aren't part of the starter pack with the hub. Or are these the newer models without the need for one. May jump either way
Don't the newer ones make the older ones that require a bridge redundant?

Having the bridge still gives you more functionality / works with accessories (switches & sensors)

But can't Alexa do all that. Also purchased some novostella bulbs. 12W, not very bright , especially if you choose a non white colour , very little light
Currently use Philips living colour lamps.
Give a nicer diffused light. Are these bulbs any better than the novostella ones

Yes, a Google Assistant or Alexa system will be able to control things with your voice, but it is handy having smart switches and motion sensors for certain parts of the house. I've tested all sorts of smart bulbs, the best for colour intensity have been Philips Hue or TP Link Kasa. I've now converted the house to Philips Hue and not looked back.
I couldn’t resist buying it.
What do we reckon? Is this as good as it’s going to get?
I have Alexa. And that's about it. She's not proved very useful at all. So now I reckon I have to buy some Philip's hue light bulbs and a hive thermostat. Ring doorbell will have to wait until I'm less broke.
Expired?

Yes. I missed it too. Anyway ordered a hub for just £25 from eBay as I already ordered a new Bluetooth bulbs with echo dot. As I know hub is giving more functionality than just Bluetooth. If you have Logitech harmony then hub is must(y)
