Why are these so ridiculously expensive..... And why do people keep buying them
Just FYI - these are old style protruding GU10 bulbs. I know some people don’t mind but just making sure people are aware before they decide to go for this.
Think they've been this price at Argos for a while too.

The picture looks to be old style but clicking the link and checking comments it says they are 3rd gen so great price as includes switch and if you already have hue you can sell the hub.

Not for the GU10, there's only 2 generations, the second generation is the smaller one which includes richer colour and bt.

Hue are working on another version to replace some 2nd gen bulbs as they buzz when they're powered but not illuminated.

Is it only the V2 colour ones that buzz as I have the ambiance V2 and all quiet with my 6? The V2 ambiance ones are smaller and the front isn’t flat so you can’t use a tool to aid fitting/removal.
Can find these quite often on amazon warehouse circa 80-90.

Got mine for 84 and were brand new with seal still intact and v2 (like new condition).

If you're not in a rush, keep an eye out.

The buzzing has been reported on all new GU10's with bt not just the 2nd gen colour ones. I have 6 and the buzzing frequency differs per bulb, some people report no buzzing with them at all, some do... Obviously a faulty batch with buzzing components.

This is the reply I received from support:

"There are some GU10 buzzing bulbs that are indeed faulty, our firm is currently working on fixing the issue, but unfortunately, the official response is that the replacement bulbs will be sent in 6 months. Therefore, we are unable to take actions before that in this regard. We apologise for the inconveniences and we hope for your understanding. "

Mines a recent purchase and I haven’t heard any buzzing. Sounds like they may replace them but 6 months!
