Offer ends date is 3rd September. The cheaper pricing in July was to compete with Prime day so I don't think we will see too many deals until November with the run up to Black Friday, but could be wrong.
im so tempted

I don't think you are. Probably just going to buy now. I'm thinking that this will be a bit old hat by Black Friday, they've wheeled it out so many times since last November. Maybe this year they'll further incentivise the bundle by including the new Google Nest Mini.
This with a switch would’ve been an ultimate deal, even if you flog the hub and mini it still works out £30 for two sets of bulb which doesn’t beat my lowest price of £6 a piece. Good deal deal never the less.
Do these do cool to warm white or warm only?
Absolutely smashing price . Already have one,
super hot for me.
Got this last time and and didn't realise how much I would love these bulbs. If you're lucky you might bag the 3 bulbs and switch like I did last time!

Bought. Needed a second hub because the first is full of routines, rules and effects. Need the colour bulbs to extend TV Ambilight to pendants hanging over the sofa at the other side of the room; surround light.

They will do all the colours and the whites so you can have warm white, cold white, in-between, as well as moving into oranges or pretty much any colour going.

Also if you get lucky at Curry's you might get given the 3 bulb set which is worth more, I've done this deal twice before and both times received the 3 bulb set upon collection.
Aside from the colours, is there any particular benefit of having this over a pure WiFi bulb setup with something such as the TP-Link ones (see below).

I would only ever need 3 bulbs as the remainder of my house has spot lights (gu5.3) and they don’t do any “smart” options for those yet (probably never will).

Doesn't seem to be click and collect but delivery to store, so unlikely those mistakes will be repeated.

The biggest benefit of a hub based system is that it works locally & not reliant on a solid internet connection.

Depends on your setup I suppose, Hue is a full ecosystem and sells lamps, bulbs, led striplights as well as external lights for walls, pillars, garden led etc

the out of home control is useful, and using zigbee doesn’t overload the WiFi traffic in your home.

Its all compatible with hue entertainment so you can get Halloween themed apps, Christmas apps etc which is limited appeal but kids love it, and you can sync the apps to music or what’s on your tv.

We have led striplight behind TV and one under a cabinet and it looks great.

There are cheapo alternatives, hue posts always get flooded by people posting links to Chinese bulbs or competitors - but no one does the bulb, fitting, fixture etc range that hue offers, and coupled with being backed by a large company that is actively developing the range gives me confidence it’s going to remain in active development, and that I’d i buy another bulb in 3 years time, the colour will act consistently with my existing bulbs.

You haven't mentioned anything there that the 11.99 ones don't have. Sounds like paying for a name rather than build quality or actual functionality. I guess I'll just let the naive drink evian

Save me some time and link me to these 11.99 ones that has all this so I can happily debunk your usual boring drivel that people insist on filling hue threads with time after time after time to help justify their cheap tat purchases.

Sorry to burst your fanboy bubble. Colours (16 million), warranty, next day delivery, connectivity, works with the standard voice controllers, good reviews so obviously good quality, ios, android. Keep drinking that Hue kool-aid.

Of course if you read the negative reviews of smart bulbs they do seem to both have build quality issues, even the phillips ones:

Yep seen them, and many like it. Wow, where to even start?

* Relies on 2.4ghz wifi and their specific app, no open api, so no third party support. Relies on WiFi range, if you don’t like the app or it won’t connect (common from reviews) you have no alternative app to use. Hue uses its own Zigbee network which doesn't get impacted by your wifi, your neighbours wifi or the number of devices in the house. It's not limited by wifi range or signal in the house, which each linked device helping to extend the range.

* Unheard of Chinese company. What happens if they vanish? How does app then control your WiFi as will rely on their servers? More faith in Phillips sticking around than “shenzhensizhongkejiyouxiangongsi“

* bulbs only available in e27. What happens when you have a mix of bulbs available, light strips etc indoor and out, and want to control them all in one place easily? Hue has a massive range of bulb types, as well as light fittings designed specifically for Hue, and does lights for indoor and outdoor all of which interoperate seamlessly. Active product development so new stuff coming out all the time.

* Cant sync to content on your tv or music. Not compatible with apps like Halloween, Christmas, bonfire lighting. Not for everyone, but the kids love this stuff.

* No colour consistency between bulbs - reviews mention that bulbs in a 2 pack are a different colour to the single pack so 3 bulbs in a room are different colours / light temperature. Amateur quality. Every Philips bulb will be consistent. This is bobby basic stuff - you got two bulbs you expect them to be the same colour, going to look absolutely idiotic having different colour temperature whites or different shades of red.

* Reviews mention some light shades wont fit due to depth of the bulb...bit of a no brainer that this is going to be annoying.

* The Hue reviews you linked to have 91% 4 or 5 star reviews, 4% 1*. The Chinese ones have 85% 4-5, but with 12% 1*, much larger negative swing. Which leads me onto the next point, and if you take out those reviews there would be a much worse review score....

* Many of the positive reviews in broken english, suspiciously like the product listing language ("ASZKJ smart bulbs, change your life! Even you are not at home, you can control your smart bulb!") blatantly fake most of them. Wouldn’t be surprised if majority of the other positive reviews are given in exchange for discounts / free products as that’s how many Chinese suppliers inflate their scores. I did a news piece on these type of reviews ages ago so my work email still gets a lot of contact from chinese sellers offering discounts and this is exactly the sort of product they would push. You only have to read some of the broken english five star reviews to see they're not genuine:

"When I first used it, it really surprised me and satisfied me! It’s really different feeling! A variety of color choices are intoxicating. Many functions are also very practical, and there is no problem with remote control stability. In short, I am very satisfied!"

"A small light can change a lot of colors, giving me a very strange feeling! This is a good product, easy to install and control. I think I will buy it again in the future!"

"I received the WIFI bulb and tried it out. The setup and space are simple (with a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network). The color of the lamp is superb and the charm is unlimited!"

"I have him and my home is colorful, just like a bar. I am very satisfied with the creation of the atmosphere."

"Use it for a while, share my feelings
1: According to the manual operation, the link is still very convenient and simple, of course, your guaranteed WIFI works on the 2.4GHz channel!
2: mobile phone and Alexa, Google Home and IFTT can control (according to Alexa, Add ""Smart Life"" to Amazon Alexa Skills, then follow advice to linkup.) very convenient and practical!
3: This color is very colorful. You can adjust the color according to your own love, or you can time it. This can be automatically changed to the required light when you need it. very good!"

"After using it for a while, I want to give a recommendation to the praise, because I am very satisfied! Very romantic little things. Applicable to any environment (because of the variety of colors you can choose to set yourself) romantic essentials! I need more, it is recommended!"

Weirdly all from reviewers with english sounding names like Brian McCardle.... You're calling me a fan boy yet you genuinely believe those are real reviews? lol. Weren't you calling me naive? This is priceless.

Literally nothing you’ve posted there has convinced me that these are worth saving the princely sum of about a tenner a bulb for less fun functionality and inconsistent products. Keep drinking that scruffy crippled chinese copy kool aid though

This must depend on your store - I just added to basket and had C&C option available. The code on the receipt says something like "Hue bulb starter pack" so its very easy for them to get these mixed up. Had it happen on 2 separate occasions and see another user has had it happen this time round. Its a good deal as it is but with an extra bulb and dimmer switch its stonking, usually sell the remote for £10-15, we use Alexa but sell the Google Home for £25, and sell the hub for £20, leaving 3 bulbs for £29 odd quid. Even with the 2 bulbs, good price after selling hub & google home if you dont need the hub.

Yeah mine was a click and collect at store when I got what’s pictured above.

I placed the order and was at the store within 5 mins, I then paid but it hadn’t been picked by the staff when I got there so a guy went to the cage and got it for me.

It wasn’t until I got home that I realised what was in the box.

Which store you have collected from pls
Finally had chance to collect. Only the two bulbs, no shocks there. Great to have the two bridges. Always said I wouldn't have more than the one bridge plugged in. Philips really should build them with more capacity. But now I've got over that, I can use my setup to its full potential. Outdoor lighting is the next project ready for Spring, now I have some spare capacity.
Ordered to collect Friday - I guess it's unlikely I'll end up with 3 bulbs and a dimmer but love this deal regardless! I'm renovating my house and for some reason the living room doesn't have a light switch; to switch on the light you have to do it from the dining room. Yeah I could have installed a light switch, but I fancied solving the problem with smart bulbs and Google Home

Any luck in getting the 3 bulb and dimmer pack from your order?

Nah but I'm really happy with this deal anyway! I have nothing smart in my house so I'm starting from scratch and for me this was a good place to start. I'm planning on using the bulbs in lamps to go either side of the TV, using them like ambient lighting. I still need a dimmer switch, and another 3 (not necessarily RGB) E14 bulbs for the main light. Tbh I might look at getting the ikea smart bulbs at only £7 a bulb as you can get them to work with the hue bridge
