Promotion sees to apply to most hue bulbs.

How do they justify these prices, you still need a hub so they're not all inbuilt like LIFX for example. Crazy.

Good offer if you can justify the funds, my old kitchen the size of a cupboard would require 8 of these though

it's the larger version, it won't fit in the gap of my ceiling

It's much better to have a hub. With LIFX and similar, each bulb is a seperate device connected to your WiFi, using up way more bandwidth than one hub! I swapped LIFX for hue and hue is much more reliable and integrates a lot better with my other smart devices.

Yes it will just get some new downright holders.
You can get fire rated open ones for £35 for 6.

Agreed.
Having 30-40 hue components all communicating over your Wi-Fi sounds beyond ridiculous and non workable.

Great Just bought 6 of them

Got these but not impressed with brightness. 250 lumens. Reverted to philips master gu10's until a brighter version becomes available. B22's, E27's and E14 hues are great.

Hue uses a separate wireless system, not your home wifi.

This makes no sense, I bought 3 and a hub for 89.99, this is not a deal.

The 'starter kit' is always the one most heavily reduced, for obvious reasons.

Can you get it for that price now?
If you can, you're right this isn't a deal.

If you decided that you wanted another 6 of these bulbs, would you wait another 12 months for the same deal?

If you would, this isn't the deal for you.
If you wouldn't, this is the deal for you.

I know the answers so you don't need to respond

If you wanted another 3 you would raise a return request with Amazon and get charged 89.99 on 31st January.

If you wanted another 6 you would raise a second return request which wouldn't be accepted until you speak on live chat.

Just saying

Not sure if sarcastic.
You'd need to have purchase the black Friday offer for 89.89 to begin with.
Just an idea if you want more but don't want to pay more.

Sorry I wasn't intentionally being sarcastic that's just the way it comes out sometimes
It still seems cryptic to me what you're saying. If you return it how would you end up with extra?

If you go to return an item with Amazon you can get your replacement sent before they receive the return.
So you raise a return request like you would for a real fault and just don't return the item.
Amazon will charge your card after 30 days or over Christmas period they give you until end of January.
They will charge the original price paid.
So it's useful if you need more.
Hope that's clear enough.
It's an extra sake as far as Amazon is concerned

@robo989 Ha right I get you now god I battle with my conscience enough as it is. I don't think I'd sleep at night if I did that

Wait 12 months? They go down all the time eg Prime Day, and I'd guess "Connected Week" which I think is next week? Where all smart devices go down. Checked and it's 11Dec-17Dec.

I did. You didn't say LIFX, you said Hue. You didn't make sense if that's what you actually meant.

Slight exaggeration admittedly but equally absurd to suggest all the time. My point not very well made was that the bulbs as individual items don't fluctuate much in price.
A better deal doesn't make another deal not a deal if you can't currently get the better deal.

Made perfect sense. You wouldn't want 30 hue lights hanging on your Wi-Fi. It's not mutually exclusive, wouldn't want 30 of anything zapping radio waves needlessly swamping Wi-Fi channel. With hue stuff you don't get that.
I use hue light interchangeably with a smart light as they are the only ones worth using.

Hue's use zigbee which is like an adhoc p2p network, so effectively the bulbs talk to each other, rather than all connecting simultaneously to your WiFi. Clever stuff.

I'll change my "all the time" to "monthly". If you need three bulbs then it's always better to get the starter pack (and sell the hub or use the hub as a second - note that this does cause it's own problems with ALL OFF, or multi floor/stairs/Switch issues) but it's easy to get fill the 50 bulb limit. I have to disagree about a deal being a deal if there is a better deal. Eg wouldn't brag about 1 pint milk prices when 4 pints so much cheaper.

It didn't, hence making the comment. If you'd have said having 30-40 LIFX devices connected I would have understood perfectly.

Nope, you are being pedantic.

The statement that is being expressed is nobody wants a smart light using their wifi as obviously that's a lot of devices to hog the wifi.
So to say that nobody wants a hue light using their wifi is a correct one. Nobody would want it if that were the case, thankfully it isn't.

The fact it doesn't use wifi isn't the issue being discussed.
Except by you, why?

I'm not being pedantic. This is what you said. Read it back to yourself. Now change the word "hue" with "LIFX" and you'll see it makes more sense. A further sentence stating that Hue's hub system is much better would have been perfect.

We all know Hue uses a hub so saying Hue there doesn't make sense. You're making the statement that it's unworkable, as the LIFX solution is, so why mention Hue? You messed up, admit it. Don't worry, no one is judging you.

I can see how it might have been interpreted but it's quite possible to interpret it the other way that I intended.
I humbly apologize.

Wrong information on Amazon website. I fell for 750 lumen as well. But in reality they are only 250 lumen each. I am returning two starter kits I bought on Black Friday. Suggestion for any alternatives are welcome
