Yeelights are wifi bulbs these are zigbee bulbs. That's quite a different thing. There's a start for your list.

So what? You can get it for free with promotions on some kits. Or just cheaply from ebay. It is definitely not an issue.

True The major players all use hubs, they assume you'll convert your whole house rather than one or two. Imagine 14 bulbs all trying to connect independently to your wifi? Chaos.

Tempted to swap out a couple of my Philips compatible INNR bulbs at that price. Heat given
Shame the B22 isn’t the same price!! Can’t be doing with adapters..!!

These don't need a hub with echo plus, if you want to go down that route.
Dammit, waiting for a deal on b22s
@LiTtLE_DeE Do you not rate innr?

Echoplus doesn’t give full functionality.
Good price, but still way too expensive for one bulb

Its pedantic but technically they still have the hub, the echo plus integrates it into the device OK one less ethernet cable plugged in and powered. But you're paying that extra money on a echo plus to specifically have the hub functionality, so you're buying that hub purposefully still to get the bridge.

good deal for me OP, I would like some colour bulbs :-) thanks
I've been meaning to get one of these but I've no idea why. What do I need one for?
It’s all GU10 bulbs I have in the house I’d be a fortune replacing them all

Well if you’re headed in that direction I could get a filament bulb for 50p... but where’s the fun in doing things the simple way when there’s a much more complex, much more costly option?

Yeelights don't have the same functionality either.

But it works with all devices and connects to mostly everything ?

Uses more power. Takes up wifi channel space. Doesn't use mesh networking, so the bulbs don't extend your network.

Thats fair enough but for nearly 4x cheaper it's worth considering if you don't need mesh and have decent bandwidth etc

It's more about overlap than bandwidth. They're also not as bright, as well as have less functionality.

I paid around £24 a bulb, so the price difference was not a great as that for me.
Gah, can't justify another one of these. Already spent a silly amount of money on them.

Don't do it. Next you'll have 7 of these ******* like I do! . It's a slippery slope. Still the fireworks theme is amazing!

And then you sit fixated on here waiting for the next offer!

Well I'm not actually. I've got well over 20 smart bulbs and switches, light strips, TVs, heaters, monitors etc all routed through my Smartthings for home automation and hooking into my 3 Google homes. Your judgement couldn't be further from the truth.

I replaced ALL of my outside bulbs with zigbee bulbs for less than this single bulb. Hence...are you having a laugh
Aberanuj4 h, 24 m ago

Hub required

Also requires electricity, a light fitting, and a house to put it in. Gosh, it's hard to tell where to draw the line with deals these days!

Hub is not actually required, as it'll work like a normal lightbulb without one. That obviously defeats the point of it though!

Yes, but have you got smart blinds as well?!

Then I'd suggest to get a couple of Lightwaverf switches instead, a lot cheaper in the long run.
