Same. Only need 2 but will stick one on eBay. Shame they don't do a deal on the 2 pack

Still time they may do further deals. I’ve got an extra dimmer and hub as well which will go on eBay 💡
So annoying that they restrict these to one per order. Nothing worse than having to add these back to your basket 10 times. First world problems
With the echo dot currently being £22 I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and get a couple with some lightbulbs, I know I'm gonna get slated for asking this dumb question, but why are the lightbulbs different colours? I thought they where colour changing bulbs anyway.

the bulbs are all translucent white in colour. The different colours in the image are just to illustrate that they change colour
Thank's nick1946, it would seem odd having different coloured lightbulbs

All the bulbs are white. They change to whatever colour you require once fit

Bought this before and it was 1 white and 2 colour, so maybe they’ve changed it. Tricky wording leads to confusion.

it's the white part that's confusing people!
there's two COLOUR only bulbs and ONE colour + White bulb.
i.e. two that form colours by mixing three LED's and another that does the same PLUS has a white LED! it's blimmin confusin'

Really confusing, but glad it’s 3 colour this time.
Do I have to buy 'Philips Hue Bridge' ? How much is it and what is it? some controller?
Been waiting all week for this!!!
I'm struggling to justify buying this - money is fairly tight (which is surely the point of this site) and I have three already from the last offer that I haven't yet used because I need seven more for the ceiling light fittings (two lamps with five bulb holders each).

I'm trying to approach it - convince myself - that these aren't "just" light bulbs but rather, kind of, room furnishing items. The effect can certainly be incredible in terms of ambience.

I was thinking of using some cheaper white ambience Hue bulbs to pad out the cost but, with the current offers on the colour bulbs, there actually isn't much at all in it.

I can't make the leap to fully buy-in to what seem to be over priced concept bulbs although 60% of me knows that they are more than just ordinary light bulbs.

Good explanation and I feel exactly the same way. Your looking at £22 a bulb with these and I need two so I didn't want to pay the £67 for these 3 bulbs. And the two pack which I have my eye on don't seem to be reducing at all and they work out at £32 a bulb

So all in all it looks like I'm not going to be able to get any of the white colour E14 bulbs for less than £22 a bulb

If it helps, I definitely think they’re more than just light bulbs. I use them to wake up (gently!), night light (with sensor), security (random when out of home), auto-on/off when I leave/arrive home and of course mood lighting! I’ve also created recipes so they do ‘things’ when the temperature dips/rises below a certain level, if my team scores (hasn’t been triggered for this in a while :/ ) and to alert me to timers, particular days/events and activities. (Waaay too much time on my hands).

Ha! That probably doesn’t help at all, especially when you can just switch the light on and off yourself, but I couldn’t go back now I’ve gone all fancy

How do you do all of that lol. Sounds brilliant. I just got my first hue starter kit with three e27 bulbs but I can't do all of what you just mentioned. I just switch them on off by the app for security when out the house oh and I've made an entertainment area and got the hue app and it works in sync with Kodi. Have you purchased extras to do alot of what you mentioned?

Ok, so have a little play around with the app - set some ‘scenes’, go into the ‘routines’ section and you can automate the lights for certain activities. If you go into ‘explore’ you’ll find the Hub Labs, where idle people such as myself find and create ‘formulas’ that suit your specific needs.

Download an app called If This Then That IFTT - I won’t bore you here with the details, but this is where you can really start brewing up some custom ‘recipes’ for your lights - have them turn purple when the International Space Station passes over your house perhaps (don’t ask!), turn your lights ice blue when the temperature hits freezing, blink cobalt blue when it starts to rain... You get the idea.

If you get a sensor, you can use it as a handy little night light to prevent stubbed toes on the way to the loo in the middle of the night, or to light your way to the kitchen for a forbidden midnight snack . The sensor will also give you a temperature reading for that part of your property/room which is also handy.

I reckon a dimmer switch might be your best investment if your current set up operates your ceiling lights. You’ll never need to get up again, or use your phone to select a ‘scene’.

Brilliant my friend I'm going to get onto it all now. I'll try everything you just mentioned. I'm trying to learn more about it all. I do love the bulbs though. The colours are excellent and the things you can do are superb aren't they

Only one I'm having issues with is the IFTTT app. Can't see how to link my hue app to it or use it alongside the hue app
