Got this last time for £45

It’s even better now, good deal

LED light bulbs cost £1 each from Poundland.

Why are Philips bulbs so expensive?

Is there a return on investment or pay back time?

Not sure if your trolling but these are SMART bulbs which work with apps..

New to the smart lighting - so new I've not bought any yet - but is this a good deal to get into smart lighting and Phillips Hue? Fortunately the house has mostly bayonet bulbs!!

This is a pretty good offer to help you get started although you will have to buy the main hub for them to work. These are the most basic bulbs in the range so you may want to look to upgrade further down the line.

Nice, thanks

Gutted I bought the 3 pack deal for £24.97 a few days ago.
Nearly ordered again but I have 3 coloured and 9 white bulbs plus 2 xaiomi bulbs too.
Not sure I need anymore.
Good price though.

It needs a hub to sit in between.

Lol its a light bulb,

Up until recently these were £14.99 each so I'd say absolutely yes.
£6.66 each is a fantastic price.

Cheers Steven. I'm looking at buying the Hue Hub and a Motion Sensor to get me started. These bulbs would basically do for landing and hallway etc so not looking for anything with colour etc.

ordered 3 packs! Thanks for the guidance guys. Cheers Op.

Why must Amazon troll me like this! Just fitting the 6 I bought the other day for £49.98. Better than the other 3 for 2 deals as you can mix and match so I got my strange mix of B22 and E27 covered.

I’m getting the echo Plus for Christmas. I’ve read these bulbs will work direct without the hub. Can anyone confirm?

For people who don't know , u can buy bulbs from other companies - T P Link who sell bulbs that don't require a hub ... Just buy the bulb , pair it with the app .

Yes that's right. The echo plus has a built in hub, although it will only perform basic functions with hue bulbs.

Then each bulb you have is a seperate device using bandwidth on your Wi-Fi. With hue, all your bulbs work from the hub so only one device connected to Wi-Fi

Out of stock now. PLEASE EXPIRE

Don’t think it’s working anymore showing as £75 for me. Good deal if you can get it.

These have tiny generators inside, once they get going they basically power themselves.

I am serious.
So what is they can be controlled by apps?
A timer can control a 50p bulb.

What is the pay back time?

This is a very subjective thing. People like the convenience of being able to say "Alexa turn on bedroom" and the lights go on. I say "Alexa, turn on gaming mode" and all my lights for gaming come on along with my PC and everything else. Philips offer great products that all integrate perfectly. I have normal light switches and I can set them up for multiple devices and the switches can be put anywhere.

This isn't for everyone.
Some people still like to use a horse and cart... But most people have no moved onto cars and bikes. A horse still gets you around though...

Oh, so it is has zero payback time. It is not about saving money, but spending more.

Philips prices are comical. Eg. SES LED light bulb, 1 bulb = £6.
SES LED light bulb, similar Lumens £1 or similar design and higher Lumens £1.40 .

Some people just like to be conned.

I wonder how many people argue and say Alexa switch lights on and someone says Alexa switch them off.
Seems like a gimmick to me, just like 3D television.

These are not very bright - 750 Lumens - around 60W equivalent incadescent. I have almost 4000 lumens in one room.

To you it might be so. Horses don't require expensive petrol and an MOT. Great company too.

You keep moaning, we'll keep moving

Some people just like to think they're right, and that what they want should be what everyone else wants. But it's not. If you're not interested in home automation, don't bother people who are.

Modern cars do not use Petrol. I think you use outdated technology.
A company leased Tesla works out quite cheap compared to fossil fuel and zero servicing.
The warranty is valid without servicing if you want to buy!

Are you referring about yourself, thinking you are right?

To some people the cost is ridiculous. The Chinese bulbs are much cheaper and just as good.

Some people expect a return on investment with automation.
A robot takes over a human role when more efficient and lower cost.

Hint, you do not need to respond!

No, because I accept that some people like them, some people don't. It's a bit pathetic that you can't do that.
