Philips Hue White Pack of 3 E27/ Pack of 3 B22/ Pack of 3 GU10 all £29.99 each @ Amazon Deal of The Day.

NOTE: To avoid any confusion regarding the Amazon titles for each set....the Pack of 3 B22 & GU10 are described in the title as a Twin pack & Pack of 2 respectively but when you scan down the item pages you'll see what is included in each bundle is a Twin Pack of Bulbs and a single bulb giving 3 bulbs in total.

  • Requiring the Philips Hue Bridge (sold separately) for the full Hue experience, these bulbs fit standard-size floor and table lamps
  • Install the LED light as you would install ordinary bulbs and pair them with the Hue Bridge, which allows you to control smart-bulb-equipped lamps and overhead lights via the Philips Hue app
  • Easily expand your lighting system with accessories (sold separately), such as a Hue Dimmer Switch, Hue Tap, or Hue Motion Sensor.

Going to give my honest opinion, white only bulbs are not worth it unless you’re putting them in a cupboard under the stairs/garage, if you are considering this for your house, go for the white ambient at least...colour is the most fun but for something like a hallway completely unnecessary (though I use colour everywhere, red is great for night lights ). White only are a waste of money unless it’s going into a place you don’t care about the light - which if it’s in a room in your house, you will. Even if you don’t think you care now - being able to change the temperature of the light is one of the biggest pluses of the system in day to day use. Just my 2 cents

The GU10 says pack of 2 but shows 3... Wish this was colour 😥
thanks op, need some more. glad to see there's no price discrimination between E27 and B22 finally..

It is actually £29.99 for 3 bulbs as as I put in the description: NOTE: To avoid any confusion regarding the Amazon titles for each set....the Pack of 3 B22 & GU10 are described in the title as a Twin pack & Pack of 2 respectively but when you scan down the item pages you'll see what is included in each bundle is a Twin Pack of Bulbs and a single bulb giving 3 bulbs in total

Almost got caught out myself with the Amazon title until I scanned further down the item page and saw that they were then describing it as a bundle deal and included in the bundle were a pack of 2 and a single bulb.

You're welcome....got to agree it makes a nice change for the B22 to be on offer along with the E27 as the whole of our lighting connections (for want of a better term) are B22....know you can get adapters but never got round to it.
I got 6 of these + hue bridge for £30 on shpock

Sorry to boast hehe
Would these work with the smart life app? Or would I need a Philips hub?

You need a hub.
These are £20 less than yesterday’s Ambience deal so that’s a good saving. What’s the difference ? Thanks.
I notice that these are 9W compared these at 10W

Does anyone know if there’s an obvious difference ? Don’t say that these are 10% dimmer

These are just white, ambience does different shades of white ( from a cold blue white to a more yellow warm white )

Thanks. So what do you recommend for GU10s for kitchens, living area etc. I assume not these ones?

Any links to suitable bulbs?

I think I read that Bluetooth bulbs are now out, so maybe these are older stock?

I only ever had one gu10 for a lamp and it was rubbish in terms of brightness and colour reproduction so I got rid of it in the end. But you’re quite right there’s a newer gu10 that apparently addresses both those issues and also fits into standard fittings. Look for the ones with bluetooth and you’ll be good to go, here’s the white ambient one, there’s a colour one too.

At this stage it might be worth holding out for black Friday, especially for gu10 as they’re the least cost effective one to fit (you need so many!)...although as these are the newest bulbs, it’s unknown whether you will get a discount on them. I always wait for a sale, prime day, or black Friday to buy hue kit though.

I know someone who has a house full of the coloured ones and he never uses colour. I guess that these would be ok in a hall and stairs. These look ok for this purpose.

You want these for hallway and bathroom. White ambiance is good for rest of the rooms. Maybe a colour for your kids bedroom. That's it.

check my other post - I don't recommend these vs the ambeint bulbs, but it's up to you.

Personally I have colour bulbs everywhere, but that's just because I got deals on starter kits every time then sell the hubs. I do agree with other posters that ambient will get you by most of the time...but to give a few examples, it's nice being able to have a low red light automatically come on if I get up so I can see, but not wake my gf. It's also very relaxing having a northern lights animation playing whilst having a bath, with all the colour firing off. Being able to set colour scenes for movie night is also a nice touch - you can't do any of that with an ambient bulb, just shades of white/yellow.

ymmv - you will undoubtedly get addicted, it's just a question of how bad the addiction will be.
I wish Hive were this cheap
Need a deal on the GU10 colour. Would have went for these if ambience though.

Apart from the recent Currys deal, I haven't seen one on the colour GU10s. I searched for ages and eventually gave up and bought the extra bubs I needed from ebay at around £40 each.

Yeah, that was an annoying deal. Collection only when I got to it, so couldn't apply the code. Rang Curry's, they said go the store and they'd apply the code. Guess what, they wouldn't. Even had the cheek to suggest was abusing the code. Screw Curry's and their retail monkeys.
Torn between normal white and white ambience for a small hallway. I just need 2 and saw that the ambience are sometimes on offer 2 for 25 whilst the normal white are 2 for 20 all the time
