This with a hub was £2.50 more yesterday. Same for bayonet or large screw. Also same price for colour gu10's.

Might be best getting them and getting £17 from cex for the hub. Maybe.
I used adaptors bayonet to screw., they've been perfectly fine, bought them from ebay.

i did this, not a problem.
We have some weird G24 light fittings in our new build. Will have to try and find some adapters to fit these bulbs as nobody does smart bulbs in that type
So white bulbs a lot cheaper. Does anyone use the colour function of these? Thinking of taking the plunge to Hue but we tend to have warm or white bulbs in the house.. Advice; cheaper to get starter kit with white bulbs etc.?

Got colour bulbs all over.

Not sure I could go back to just warm white. Have a lot of them on slow rotation through colours, avoiding blue and greens.

This might only apply to where you want ambient lights. If it's a bathroom, outdoor, hallway, etc, then colour might be overkill.

You can't use adapters, G24 fittings use an external ballast, and connecting a smart bulb to this will blow it

If you want smart dimming, you'll need to replace the fittings and remove the ballast

if you just want smart on/off, you can swap out the switches
Shame there is still no way of syncing the lights to your TV without a computer or a Philips Ambilight TV. Otherwise I'd be buying

Buy an ambilight TV, trust me its worth it if you have a hue set up! some great prime deals today on Ambilight TVs.

You can get a 3rd party hue app that syncs with a non-ambilight TV, but it does this by putting your phone in front of your TV and recording the footage as it happens - sounds messy to me, but thats the only other way round to get your hue lights to know what colours are on your TV if you don't want to change your current TV set up.
I just wish they'd make them brighter - I tried some 800 lumen hue bulbs, but they just didn't match the 1000 lumen ikea bulbs I have in the lounge. I have plenty of hue elsewhere in the house, and this is a great price!

You can also clone the HDMI then run it through a HDMI>composite adapter and use a £3 capture card on a raspberry pi

I believe Innr may make a shorter compatible GU10, but don't quote me on that
It’s a shame there’s only good deals on bundles at the moment, I only need a single E27 colour bulb for now
