Usually £19.99. Free delivery on prime or when spending over £20 if non prime.

Yes, Aqara Xiaomi, etc buttons are cheaper, but for a genuine Hue dimmer, £17.99 isn't bad.

Same price at Currys with discount code as posted elsewhere on HUKD.

This eBay seller makes cover plates which are really neat.

He has no items for sale at the moment, but for about £10 you can have the Hue dimmer with on the wall instead of your existing light switch.

Thanks for the plug!

I list every Sunday at 7PM but they sell out quickly so it always seems like I'm out of stock.

As someone else stated, they only look bulky in pictures and that's only because they have your existing switch underneath. I do a version that is as minimalist as it can be that replaces the switch too.

For updates on designs and what will be listed I've created a Facebook page 3D Print Concepts.

Can you get to the original switch underneath? The Hue dimmers are not alway reliable and having access to the switch is required.

Yes you can get to up to 3 switches underneath thanks to a little window under where the hue switch slots in. I have 2 of these at home, working perfectly and look good 2.

The same guy who sells those on eBay also released the files to 3D print yourself, which I was about to use to order from a 3D printers, but then you have to source the magnets yourself, then attach those in the right place along with getting longer screws, which you will almost certainly need. I bought from him in the end as it’s just easier, and they’re ace!
I wish they'd lower the price of their candle bulbs.

Those 3D printers covers still have a way to go. Look really bulky
Not a bad price. But still cheaper to buy a kit of switch with Hue White lamp (£29 or wait for a deal).
Saves £2.

I thought that from the pictures. Bought one anyway and they really aren't, well worth the money.

Ditto, I bought 2 and have no regrets.
I’ve purchased the same covers for my light switch and yes the are bulky because your original light switch and it’s cover are still underneath. I love it this way as you don’t have to fiddle with any electrical cables, just swap 2 screws

If you get one of those 3d printed covers, then search YouTube for instructions of how to get rid of the awful rough surface and get if gloss-smooth by using the vapour of acetone.

Thanks, great idea as you can get to the switch too
I got two of these made up without access to the switch - I removed the switch from the wall and just connected the wires underneath so that they’re always on, which does make it a little less bulky.

It needs to be a bit bigger than the original switch size anyway because the hue dimmer is taller than a standard switch - the plate it come bundled with is standard US size.

I 3d print an alternative I designed. Works quite well.
I'll fashion something myself...don't have a 3D printer and am not spending £12...I'll adapt / glue the plate it comes with.

Ikea ones now work with Hue, they may have a cheaper alternative.

Amazon have just dropped the prices a bit.
I've just posted a deal but getting many cold votes... hahaha.
Still too dear for me, might have a look at the IKEA bulbs though... thanks

I’ve managed to get most of my house swapped over to Hue bulbs (which are slightly better than Ikea ones) but still have Ikea ones in the bedrooms. I’ve still got 10 GU10’s to swap out to smart bulbs but Hue is just too much, so I’ll be going Ikea for those too. Again I will drop some functionality Apple Home can’t see/control Ikea bulbs used via Hue bridge) but it’s a price I’m willing to pay.

Yes, thats what I did in the end. They work ok, but I get situations where 1 of the 10 in the kitchen doesn't behave like the others. It's always a different one.

So ikea work with the hue hub?
Now, I have a Google home mini that can do this, also have the app for the hue lights, is there any need for me to buy this seeing as I can already do it? What you guys think

Do what? If you're using your Google home mini to turn on and off lights it'll be quickly get annoying. A light switch is simple and quicker when leaving a room. Also saves waking people up or being loud at night.

Smartthings makes Ikea and Philips available to Alexa...I use device handlers for Aqara buttons usually. The aqara button is set up to control a mix of ikea and Philips bulbs, Short press toggles all on / off and long press toggles half on / off.

I'm not sure how good original hue dimmer is with Smartthings, but I'd like the dimming functionality available to Ikea bulbs too.

I could less around with the aqara button to get it to also dim, but it's gets overly complicated on one button.

I have Google home and Echo, there are times you don't want to make a noise...you're watching TV...perhaps Alexa doesn't hear you with the TV loud.

These aren't essential, but can compliment Google home or Alexa.

Do you have a link for the minimalist version please?
Anyone using Hue bulbs directly with SmartThings (rather than using the Hue Hub) know if these dimmer switches will work?

I have these in the bedrooms as you don't want to use voice control in the middle of the night and I don't want to get my phone out, but the hall, bathroom and landing all work on movement sensors so not bothered in those rooms. Driveway lights I just operate by voice.

Yes they do as long as they are the new firmware. Theres a couple of steps you have to go through to get them on the hub but take a look at videos on youtube and it's easy enough.

I've got 3 Echos, the hue app (and other apps) on both my wife and my phones but I also have some switches around the house as they are sometime just easier to use and also for the kids (they're too little to have phones and Echo doesn't always understand them) plus if there's visitors.

Between the Hue hub, phones and 3 echos I have everything covered for now. I don't fancy introducing a Smartthings hub unless I have more things in the future that I want working together. FYI I still have dimming functionality on the Ikea bulbs used via Hue hub on the apps, voice commands via echo and the Ikea switches around the house (the puck ones with 5 buttons - the temp control doesn't work though).
