Found 11th May 2014
Product Features
Infrared treatment for areas covering 60x40cm (e.g., the entire back, both shoulders + neck, thigh)
Infrared halogen lamp technology
650w infrared lamp
The lamp can be tilted to the desired angle for ease of use on any part of the body

the total price is in Euro €109.97 (include 11.50 postage)

I marked £95 as I was not allowed to put other currency at the slot

I would post the true price once I get my credit card conversation.

My credit card would not charge me extra for purchase in other currency.

I had used one before and it's very good. it could be stand along, till to suit you, with auto time set function.
the most important it really work for me. other infra red lamp on amazon only do 100 W or up to 300. This is 650W.

watch it on youtube: youtube.com/wat…wMo
I had to give to other family members as they had more serious ache then me.

I had try to buy one for ages but only a amazon market seller on Amazon and the price is beyond my limit. (good news if you don't mind pay £200, shaver.co.uk is selling one now, they are very good services and I assume they are reputable company and they repair my Bruan shaver and Oral B toothbrush for me)

these is the best price I look around (amazon france, amazon germany and amazon spain)

I hope it would help someone like me with back pain

amazon uk page: amazon.co.uk/Phi…are

shaver page : shavers.co.uk/pro…882

philips official page :p4c.philips.com/cgi…/01

oh, I forget to mention the item should come with European plug I suppose

I start to look round and now I think I might have problem to register the item with philips uk page, might try philips de page ,

anyway I doubt they might need me to post broken item back to philips on my own money so I sincerely hope amazon italy have the same great customer services (I suppose it comes with 1 year factory warranty)

buy with shaver.co.uk if you worry about warranty, I think they represents loads of brand name products like PG group, Bruan Philips oral B

more update:

just look around at philips page and now they have the product on their product page and showing shopping link to boots.com

boots.com/en/…04/

philips.co.uk/c-p…igh

£200 (might find code to get it cheaper and 800 boots points)

according to amazon reviews yes xD actually I didn't know there was a lamp to heal headaches and backaches, and it's used in hospitals too ! It just seems to good to be true, sounds like the crap they used to sell on TV telesales.

I know exactly what you're thinking. ;-)

this is a lot cheaper than buying from uk amazon (3rd party)...but beware of the lamps... from one of the reviews

"The other downside is having to send the unit to a Philips approved repairers in order to replace the bulb when it expires as pointed out by another reviewer. At present it is not possible to buy the bulb yourself. In the hand book it says that the bulb should last for 500 hours. This could approve an added expense as regards paying for the part and having to have the lamp shipped. Maybe it will be possible to buy the replacement parts once the lamp has been on the market for a while but someone 'electrically' competent will need to do the work as it will involve unscrewing and dismantling the entire lamp housing in order to change the bulb. Not a job for novice DIYers."

I had used one before and they are really good. quality is great as well.

Philips do a lot of medical equipments for hospitals ( a bit like siemens)

I could assume you the one I used before was not cheap staffs like those flooding the market.

The problem is : this lamp is not promoted in uk (or marketing) so I am not sure how the guarantee works that is why I prefer to buy with Amazon (yes I know it's not Amazon UK )

Honestly if I have more money(£200), I would definitely buy from shaver.co.uk .

cool, the only downside has been already brought up, it's the consumables, just like printers, you get them almost for free, but you're charged an arm and a leg for the consumables, in this case it's the lamp.
But I guess that with a bit od DIY and ebay you'll be able to install the lamp, for a fraction of the price asked by the authorised service center.

yes I did aware of these, but these are common in these infra lamp,

but if you have back ache like me, I would not mind to pay for something that really help me.

the one I bought before still working (at my other families home) since I bought it second hand on Nov 2011

I did not know such product (650W) existed before and the results was great. those lamp in lower Watts did not work for me.

of course I could not tell if the new one still have the high standard like the old one

but as I said before I do need one and these is the best price I see for so long

I could post more when I receive delivery

Just hope someone might find it useful - to aware such product on the market, check the instruction book, watch the video

please don't joke about it...when you have backache like me found it hard to get up from bed in the morning, had to roll sideway, you would use anything to help you.

this is a medical lamp not a cosmetic thing.

why people are horrible in these forum is beyond me?

may I wish you always pain free in your whole life

yes you are telling the true.

in my case I do think the price is right for me as the old one did work for me and it is the cheapest price I search for a long time.

hope the new one is the same quality and I don't mind to pay for a new one if it break in one year.

when you have backache like me, paying around £110 for a year it's not too bad.

Thank you - ordered it!
If you find any information regarding the lamps or replacements please let us know - thanks again

and the item is quite big I hope you aware and it's quite heavy (the bottom - so very stable)

I used to put it at side of my bed all the time

if I really really need to move it, I need to tile a bit and roll it along on the bottom edge (no wheel, solid round plate base)

Do anything, just don`t trust your doctor and don`t take drugs they prescribe...
I sure you know way more than this, but healthy food and life style is always the key. Best of luck.

bloody hell! ! I thought that because it says Philips infra light so does the ipl machine have them. Also I wanted a Philips one so don't judge me just because you have a back pain.

I have severe foot pains and leg and I'm only 29!

I hope you don't suffer from foot pain all your life

Philips do have something call:

Philips Lumea Precision IPL Hair Removal System with Facial Attachment

my title : 650W lamp !!!

Here's a comment that made me think, now it was about a different product (http://scambusting101.blogspot.co.uk/2010/06/light-relief.html) but have a read:

"From the studies, which anyone can find easily via Google, certain specific visible wavelengths of blue (415nm) and red (660nm) have been shown to heal skin and reduce acne. The question is whether this particular product emits those specific wavelengths. I have not been able to find even a claim of what wavelengths are emitted by this unit. It would have been nice if the first commenter who says they called the company to find that out would have told us their answer, but that person seems to have skipped over that particular piece of information. "

Now looking at this phillips version, is it simply a lamp which heats? I can't find any specs to say otherwise, i.e what are the operating specs of this unit in terms of the light output, range, wavelengthe etc...

Hang on, the manual states:
IR type IR A/B/C
Irradiance (W/m²) approx. 1000

I asked the question for more detailed specs on this from Phillips.... here's the transcript:

Welcome to Philips Chat. Thank you for your question, you're chatting with Michael.
Michael: Hello, Welcome to Philips, give me a second to review your query
Me: Hi, sure, take your time
Michael: i am afraid not, you can also check on the products website in the faq's p4c.philips.com/cgi…ENG here, but these are the only bits of information we have, especially, that these are not made anymore, this is the last one of that products range, made in 2007.

Me: really?? I've only just purchased one from Amazon Italy, does that mean there won't be a warranty for it? Come to think of it, will you cover a purchase from Amazon Italy in the UK?

Michael: it does have the full warranty period, which is also international, what i mean by that, is that it may be quite hard to find. But of course we do cover it, as i said, the warranty is international, and if the product is purchased brand new, in case of any issues we can cover it

Me: OK, thanks, is the a new or current model that does something similar?

Michael: no, as i said, the hp3643 is the last one of this product range we ever did

Me: thanks!

Michael: no problem, can i help you with anything else today?

Me: nope - thanks for your time!

thanks so much for the great information.

thanks for the tips, I would treat it as a heated lamp from your great information. (Before I buy it, in my mind I already treat it as a aid not a recovery medical equipment, I just hope the new one is as good as the one I owned before.)

It seems Philips not really try to do any marketing of this item even in old days(2011 when I got hold of a used one) - and it's very strange as the product was out of factory line since 2007 but now and I just find out lately Boots.com selling this item (I do search for this item for more than a year before)

some update :I got amazon. it delivery email yesterday (13/5) and the item would be delivered by CityLink (figure cross, always worry with couriers nowadays)

Thanks op!
this came through last week, just need the eu adapter and it's being used daily.

thank you again!
