My car doesn't deposit manure behind it, and they claim it's progress. It's just annoying.

Then you're not looking hard enough or done the correct research!

LED bulbs are fantastic and you can get them from ridiculously warm/orange (1700K) all the way to ultra cool white (6500k)

Toolstation do some significantly cheaper ones. Though if you want Phillips why not
what is frosted?
I usually go for the Screwfix ones, but this is a good price for Phillips.

The glass looks white (like most light bulbs) rather than transparent.
Is b22 a "standard" bayonet job?

Homebase, but they never seem to have any in stock !
Bought these at this price on 24th Jan. Give a nice warm colour and only the slightest flicker when turning on not a big deal at all, perfect for small rooms, hallways or cupboards you don't have smart bulbs in.
I've got these Phillips bulbs and also cheaper own brand LEDs . Cheaper ones fail much more regularly , don't remember a Phillips one failing yet.

For the feeling these are end of range as they seem to have mainly withdrawn from the bulb manufacturing

Bought a pack of these but they all buzz when in use. Anyone else have this problem or do I have a faulty set?

You say they all do it? It is quite rare that a whole set would be faulty.

Not on dimmers are they?
Can't wait to see those back again.

we've had one of these bulbs on in the hall for 24/7 for 18 months and its still going.

The light these bulbs make is very warm. Its a way better bulb than many other energy savers on the market.

It won't be the bulbs, it'll be either a dimmer switch or some kind of interference in the electrical circuit. It's hard to pinpoint what is causing it, but it's often things that contain a motor like a microwave, fridge, extract fan.

I had halogen ones in my house, then one exploded... that was me done with halogen.

Eww I’ve always hated those clear bulbs. Frosted is the way to go!
I've had three boxes of these from amazon (supplied by them and not a marketplace seller) and they have all been pretty pants. Dodgy soldered bc connections, paint on the bulbs, dents and non consistant colours. I might have had a bad batch but the three boxes came one after the other as I claimed for exchanges. I've got most of the house covered in Led bulbs manufacturered by Lap by Screwfix and they do an excellent job. I've even used them in outside lighting and they do the trick.
Avoiding Philips from now. Bought some Philips 2.7k bulbs from Amazon (not seller) and they last about 4 to 5 months max per bulb. Now using Osram led 4K and so far so good.

Ah that’s interesting. It is specifically these bulbs though. All my other led bulbs are fine, even when I move them around. These ones always have the high pitch noise. No dimmer switch. I’ve returned because the noise was too annoying.

That doesn't sound like normal Philips QC there...

Not all LEDS are the same, the driver units can be quiet different between them but the number of folks pointing out how odd these are is making me think these might not actually be philips LEDS but some cheap LED in a philips box...
This deal or a single Philips Hue bulb?

Need to find the ones that are the right colour temp, typically what i am seeing in the shops is 3000k [too blue to my eyes] and upwards not the 2700k [warm yellow] and down [1800 to 2400k) colours temps we are use to with the halogens.

LED bulbs last nowhere near the same amount of time as the previous bread of energy saving bulbs. I've still got many bulbs which are more than 7 years old. All the new LED bulbs I've fitted tend to last 12 months.

It may be that this particular model of bulb just has a lower tolerance for interference or voltage at the low end of its functional range- rather than a manufacturing fault. Returning them is a good solution!

I have had the same experience but also note that the better quality ones last longer. The cheaper ones are ok if they are not switched on and off a lot. I have also had this buzzing problem on a lamp that was touch sensitive and kept breaking the bulb after a couple of days. One other issue I noticed with cheaper ones is sometimes the bulb stays on even if switched off

Yeah Osram are top notch, I’ve only ever had a problem with one Phillips bulb and it was one of the hue series where it wasn’t detected by the bridge via automation or serial number. Had to be RMA’d
