Also had a dual pendant version in Stafford. Nearly bought one, but put off by the 4w solar panel. Just not sure it's enough.

I bought both of them, very impressed

I also bought both from Folkestone store. Yet to try but very good prices.

The solar panel for this one is 5v 1W and drives a single 1000mAh 18560 rechargeable lithium 3.7v battery.
The LifeLight Home has a 5v 4W panel driving two 18650 rechargeable lithium batteries rated 4400 mAh at 3.7v.

A good buy and with standard 2.5mm jack/plugs so can be charged from a cheap adaptor if no sun. The lights all have 3 settings, but the push switch needs a firm pressing.

I will buy another Home version for £7.99 tomorrow if they have any left.

Very hot from me.

HI , does this come pre charged, I bought one and had it charging with no signs of life on the window sill, and nothing happens, I have tested the solar panel and thats fine but no voltage reading from the base.

Mine came with very low battery. When the panel was put in the sun the three blue leds started to flash and after 2 hours I tried the light button. At this time the first led was solid and the second and third ones flashing. The button needed a firm press, but I was able to toggle the different light intensity. It did need sunshine to get it charging, stopped when it became a bit cloudy.

You could shine a very bright light on to the panel to check it is charging.

we bought two of the Lifelight home sets.
So far we have had 1 set that works and 3 sets were dead / not charging.
the set that works says it is charging even when the solar panel is not plugged in.
I took the second set back and swapped it because it was not charging.
we have had two more sets and both of these didn't charge.
the manager at home bargains said it must be something I was doing wrong...
Can I suggest that if you have bought any of these lights you check them asap.
3 dead and 1 set that is a bit iffy out of 4 sets is not a very good rate of success.

Bought both the single and double Lifelight set - the single one seems to be ok, charged up through the day and seems to do what I bought it for - gives off enough illumintation to see the portaloo in the awning.
The double set doesn't work - no blue leds illuminated at all - so thats going back tomorrow.

Have recently bought a few sets of these I remember them on a episode of the click they were a joint project for the year of light in 2015 most of the UK stock is week 38 2014 so will soon be 3 years old the instructions say that you should charge the power bank at least every 3 months I suspect that the boost converter on these units has quite a high quiescent current but I've not measured it however good 18650s would recover or you could replace them easily. Philips gaurantee the battery pack for 12 months from purchase so it claims in the instructions there's a few videos of the African project featuring these lights on YouTube. 5 Volt's from a usb power bank will give it a kick-start if it won't get going in UK grey summer weather. Thinking of making a YouTube video tear down and mod for WiFi switching of these if I get time.

How do you charge them from a usb power bank?

You need a USB-A to 5.5 x 2.1 barrel jack or check some of your appliances for a 5v adapter as they are quite common (tv boxes for example have 5.5 x 2.1 barrel jack connectors).

yeah, good tip, few people saying not charging, using a NowTv plug to get it started.

Anybody knows how long should I charge the Solar Pendants via USB? I bought one from Home Bargains but it does not work at all (via Solar Panel) Just want to make sure I did everything before returning them. Thanks

if none of the blue lights come on when putting 5v into it, then it is faulty and take it back for a refund.

Thank you for your help WrexTheDragon.

I have 2 pendant and 6 lantern, and all are working perfect.Onest to say is that for this money they are great.i want to buy 4 more pendant. For those that have eny problems with them to change them with others at the shop were they received them.

I had the same problem, just plugged it in to the wall and it appears to work now, just hope the solar panel works when i try it with that too.

I got the pendant to one. Has been charging on my window sill all week. The first light says on and it alternates between the second and third light flashing. How do you know when it is charged?

Three solid blue lights. Best if put outside in direct sunlight.
