The Philips Lumea Prestige is designed for your body's curves and the easiest at home experience. Uniquely curved, intelligent attachments perfectly fit your curves and adapt the treatment programmes for each body area.
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. Philips Lumea applies gentle pulses of light to the hair root, putting the follicle into a resting phase. As a consequence, the amount of hair your body grows gradually decreases. Repeating the treatment leaves your skin beautifully hair free and touchably smooth. Treatment to prevent hair regrowth is safe and gentle, even on sensitive areas. Philips Lumea is clinically tested and developed with dermatologists for easy and effective treatment, from the comfort of your own home.
Philips Lumea Prestige works effectively, easily and safely on a wide variety of hair and skin types. It works on naturally dark blonde, brown and black hair and on skin tones from very white to dark brown. As with other IPL-based treatments, Philips Lumea cannot be used to treat white/grey, light blonde or red hair and is not suitable for very dark skin. This is due to the high contrast.
Your hair and your curves vary across your body, so each area needs treating in a different way to ensure the best results. Philips Lumea Prestige has uniquely curved intelligent attachments for the body (legs, arms, stomach) and face (upper lip, chin). Each intelligent attachment differs by combinations of shape, window size and filter, and triggers a tailored treatment programme for specific body part when added to the device. This mix of considered design and bespoke treatment enables effective and safe treatment even on delicate or sensitive areas.
To gently but effectively treat hair on your face, the attachment has been carefully designed with a small, 2 cm2 window that's also flat for precise use on the upper lip, chin or jawline. It has an extra integrated filter and when added to the device the intelligent attachment will automatically adjust the light treatment for your face.
Precision attachment has a medium-sized, curved design for precise coverage of bikini and underarm areas - 3 cm2 window size. When added on the device it triggers a tailored treatment for these body parts.
The body attachment has Philips largest treatment window (4.1 cm2) so it's perfect for a fast treatment on large body areas like legs, arms and stomach. The curved-in design closely follows body contours for optimal skin contact. When added to the device this intelligent attachment automatically triggers a tailored treatment suitable for these body areas.
Philips Lumea Prestige has 5 energy settings and makes it easy for you to choose one thanks to the SmartSkin sensor. The SmartSkin sensor indicates the most comfortable setting for women with a similar skin tone to yours.
Philips Lumea Prestige can be used both cordless and corded. For big areas like legs, we recommend using the device corded for a faster treatment without interruption. When treating smaller or hard to reach areas like the face, underarms or bikini area, use the device cordless so you can enjoy full freedom of movement.

Me too. My partner had this and she was very pleased with it. After 2 yrs of using she had to send it back for some reason and Philips gave her a full refund. Now she is looking to get another one as she's hairy again

What's the difference between models BRI953/00 and BRI954/00?
Comparing it on philips website doesn't show any differences, but they seem to be priced different?

I've been wondering the same thing, from what I have read is that they are the same apart from the color. The 953 is silver whilst 954 is lilac. But I could be wrong

I have, it works great on dark hair and fair skin. You do have to be persistent though, with hair growth cycles etc. Really happy with the results and now only have to use very occasionally.

Not for this cordless one! Although to be honest you are better off with the corded one. You lose power when it is unplugged and takes longer to do the same job. My advice would be to get the corded one, it is usually £100 cheaper.

My miss has this one, does the job, you will see results after couple of months. Be aware of the skin tones and hair colour. Read instructions before use.
Hope that's helps
Ahh this is so annoying. I got mine on Saturday and paid £325! 😫😫
I think some of the previous commenters are confusing with the cheaper version.
Yes the Costco one is a different model to the Argos.
what are the diffrences?

The BRI920/00 is corded, only for use on the body, Q & A @ Argos suggest it can be used on the face. Both deliver 250.000 flashes.

I don't have a Costco account this is a good price for the Prestige model. Some of those linked above are inferior models x

But the laser itself isn't as powerful, and takes longer between flashes. If for a smaller area eg underarms, bikini then it would be fine, but for larger areas like legs I'd definitely go for the Prestige models. Based on the research I've done! I love to save money but the extra for the prestige model seems worth it.
Does any one know if it good for coarse hair?

From what I've read, if your hair colour and skin tone is optimal it should work really well on coarse hair x
