always found philips to be a poor brand

Tracked down the Philips link to the MC145/05 manual at
p4c.philips.com/fil…pdf

No indication there of any connections other than the essential three sets
- mains power

Its Ok I got it now! Thanks!

Now … Now expired?http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=750146

No it's not Hudson, you have to put it in the basket from today only page, then you will get the correct price.

No MP3 via CD and no AUX to play from an external source - so everything you record to play is in uncompressed format.

It could make a cheap option turn out more expensive if you write loads of disks to play.

Probably quite good for childrens' rooms,

Marantz are made by Philips

to the contrary, ive found them to be one of the best.

Philips is one of the best mass consumer middle market brands in the world. When they produce even the budget stuff at budget price there is also a reassuring minimum quality and reliability.

How interesting,

Comes up in the basket as £11,755.82 !!!

Banned

Try buying it from the page.

Looks like its gone up a couple of quid - but still good value indeed
