Product overview

The Philips MC147/05 Micro Hi-Fi System will give you room-filling, dynamic sounds from a range of sources: CDs, radio and even a cassette deck. It also has Dynamic Bass Boost to emphasise the bass content of the music throughout the range of volume settings, particularly at low volume settings when bass sounds get lost.

This unit is perfect for bedrooms as not only does it have a compact footprint of 22x5cm, but there's an alarm function, plus a sleep timer that will switch the unit off after a specified length of time. Unusually the unit also has an auto stop cassette deck, as well as CD player compatible with CDs, CD-R and CR-RW formats.

The tuner receives both FM and MW wavelengths and has 20 pre-sets, while a remote control means you don't have to touch the unit for the most common controls.

cheapest around at the moment for this model

I'd be lost without that cassette deck

My kid would ask me where my pet dinosaur is if I pulled a tape to put in this.. Heat for best price though

Good find OP.

No DAB, no mp3 playback, no dock, no USB or card reader, no wi-fi, no internet radio. Useless. Cassette deck? Joke.

Thats what I thought lol.............I nearly bought one last week in my local Sainsburys store until I realized no DAB radio. If anyone is going to buy a HiFi these days. you want it to use todays technology.................. even a USB would be nice.......

But! for this model Sainsburys have it the cheapest............... so good deal!

Doesn't have a lamb doc, but surely you could save yourself money by not wasting your money on cheap crap !!!!

Well, with Apple changing their connector would you bother. I'm sure you'd have whinged that it either wouldn't work on older iPods or wouldn't work on new ones.

so you want a philips micro system with iPod dock for that price? Hmmmm..

And a car with no wheels is useless!

For those that want to listen to CD's or are not worried about Dab it does actually work so is not really useless now is it?

it's had 3.5mm input ...can plug anything in....I bought one for my girl but got it for twenty pounds as it was scratched

Really? So an iPod is the only possible way to hear music?

Interesting... You've never heard of radio, CD, cassette or anything you can plug into the 3.5mm jack?

no ipod dock is one of its main features... good one, don't let the k heads get you down!!
