ASDA Liviingston have some of the Philips Power2Go packs for £10. I managed to get the SCE4430 which is £29.34 from ASDA Direct. They also had the SCE4420 @ £10.

Probably pot luck in other stores, but worth having a look just in case to see if available in your local ASDA.

Found it the same area as the scart & hdmi cables

Had loads in stevenage asda shelf price was £10 but only £5 at the till bargain

just to expand on the quote above and to verge on splitting hairs:

I understand that this device supplies about 5volts at 2000mAh.
That would be the equivalent of at least four AA rechargeables, and more likely five (based on one AA rechargeable being capable of maintaining 1.5volts, although most rechargeables hover around 1.2volts). Allowing for any control circuitry losses, it would probably be the eqivalent of six rechargeables.
If I was looking to throw summat together to be the equivalaent of this unit, I would use six rechargeables.

Think it is a good deal for the convenience of being able to charge a device when away from the usual charging source, be that mains / USB / car 12v auxilliary socket / etc.

Good point! I didnt think to take the volts into account.
