I've got this and paid £30 for it a few months ago. It works well but the only gripe i have about it is that it doesn't cut quite as short as a conventional clipper will, you can take the guard off altogether but then it shaves almost to the skin.
Excellent price though, so voted hot.

These are really good. My wife got them for me and I use them every couple of weeks.

Note: The swivel function is not as great as it looks!

Plus points: Most clippers have grade 1/2/3 etc, these have 2 attachments with 5 settings each giving 10 possible grades. I find this really useful. Also it has 2 blade attachments (1 trim / 1 full).

Bargain at this price!

Forgive my ignorance on all things, erm... 'barberish'

Do you have to 'learn' how to change grades? For example, I usually get a 1 on the back & sides, and a 4 on top at the barbers - but I don't know how they blend the two together. Is there a knack/skill to it - or are these really just for an 'all over' grade?

same price at argos if u cant wait good set bought last time at £25 voted hot

These are probably easier to blend than trad clippers as the different settings are closer together. I would not recommend doing yours all alone though, not unless you are inspector gadget.

I usually do all over with my favourite setting and then get the wife to trim the fluffy bits. No pun intended.

Great price - Same price at argos also if thats any easier for you - I've reserved some as I was going into town anyway.

I usually do a grade 1 at the back & sides & a grade 2 on top and can do this easily myself. I would imagine that you would need someone else to blend from a grade 1 to a 4 as you cant really see what your doing at the back of your head.

If you use quidco for Argos though, isn't this only if you order online and pay for delivery as well ??
How would you get Quidco if you are getting it from instore ?

No, it's a reserve and collect special - reserve (and pay I think) online, and collect in-store - get an extra £1 cashback on top of the %, plus entry into a prize draw.

Can this cut to the equivalent 3mm attachment on a normal clipper?

But you dont pay online to reserve and pick up instore, you just reserve online then pay instore when you go and get it.

Me or you?

:-(Me unfortunately

Just reserved a set at Argos. I only ever cut 'to the bone' so these sound perfect.
Cheers..heat added.

These look really good.
I have cut my own hair for over 5 years, I dont just shave I actually style it.
It's very simple and these will make it so much easier.
If you have hair to cut or shave why not try it yourself? As long as it will grow back then there is no risk.

These are miles better than the previous set I had. I've charged them once since the intial charge and had them about 6 months, bargain! Heat and rep added.

Is the charging cable for this a 2 pin or 3 pin plug? I'm looking for some clippers to take travelling and whilst a 3 pin plug is still useable with an adaptor, 2 pin shaving sockets are available the world over and so (marginally) preferable.

It has a 3 pin transformer plug.

I have cut my own hair for years with conventional clippers with no problem. Cordless is an advantage though.

I'm very tempted.

I've had about a dozen sets of hair clippers over the years - corded and cordless- and these are probably the best I have owned. One charge lasts an age, they are comfortable to use (fit perfectly in the palm of my hand) and there are not a dozen attachments to lose. There are two combs which are adjustable to almost every length and are easily swapped or adjusted. The rotating feature is purely cosmetic though and serves no real purpose....to me anyway.
Also, mine came with a nose/ear hair trimmer. One that actually cuts nasal hair, rather than rip them out from the root as with a previous set I owned.
My only gripe is that it doesn't come with a carry case or even a bag. I suppose you can pick some sort of container up for it though, if you look around.

Worth every penny.

These pop up every few months at this price and i would agree they are damn good value, you can forget about the 90 degree function you will probably never use it if you use normal clippers anyhow. The beauty of these is they sharpen themselves with use, unlike normal clippers which after prolonged use need lubricating.

The only problem i see with them is if you dont cut your hair on a weekly basis you forget to charge them and it means using them corded so to speak. I use the one attachment and thats all is needed no faffing about with a number of clip on attachments which have been known to fall off after much use :-D

Tbh if you have thick hair these would struggle, but for most these are for peeps that are getting to the stage where short is better than wispy

I have kept checking Amazon for the last few days as I was after a set of these, about a week ago they dropped to £19.59, then on the 7th amazon were selling them at £17.49 and an Amazon Market place seller had them to £14.99 delivered, so bought one went to post here, but, the price had gone back to £19.59. But, £19.59 is still a good price.

I got a pair of these last year at £25, they were brilliant clippers, problem is little plastic connections for blade attachments have snapped from changing between the two, the piece can easily be screwed off & looks like a simple little replacement, a few months ago I searched all over the web (including philips site) I could find nowhere to get a replacement, if anyone knows how please let me know??

Yer but will I be able to style my hair like yours on my own:-D Heat added:thumbsup:

same price as last year, great clipper, last well on charge and well made. I found it very easy to get on with

got mine from argos on special offer for 19.99 instore. not sure if its an online offer as well...

Another satisfied customer, although I disagree with those who say the twist function is useless. These are the first clippers that I can use and not have to get the wife to do a patch up job at the back. I think the changing wrist positions just slightly changes the angle giving the blades new hair to chomp.

Anyway, we all seem to agree the clippers are good...

Oh, and do be careful. The numbers on cutting length are NOT equivalent to grades ( there are some bad reviews on amazon on this basis...)

Great price, but think I'll stick to the barbers for the time being

Expired
Price has gone up to £24.49.

Price is coming up as £24.49 now

If you missed these, just keep on checking back at amazon every week or so. They go up and down fairly regularly. I played the waiting game and it took about a month to come back to this price again.
