Great price for a quad set. I have the colour screen version of these, cosmetically look exactly the same, and if they are anything to go by, they are really good.

Also,Philips CD2353 DECT Phone Triple Pack @ £39.99 - direct.tesco.com/q/R…spxhttp://direct.tesco.com/pi/Product/1/AW06100-3821TPS49476.jpg

nice find and good timing as I was about to look for a new phone

I have had a Philips DECT phone before (and a few others too, from BT, from the earliest model to a more recent one), and tried a couple of others too, finally come to the realisation that whatever the price, NOTHING comes close to Panasonic models, they appear to be in a world of their own. Currently have the 8 series with answerphone (35 quid a while back followin a deal posted on here, but good deals are not too common unfortunately!) - it is louder and clearer than any I have tried, as well as having headset socket, which is handy if you are not so good hearing.

I bought some Philips phones from Argos last year and took them back within two days.

I thought they were terrible and will be waiting for a good deal on some Panasonics.

what is the "sim card trick"?

what is the "sim card trick"?

Just add any sim card to your order, from here - direct.tesco.com/q/s…spx , then simply return it to you local Tesco sore and get a refund. http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/213939/philips-se4354s-05-cordless-telepho/../../213162/disney-winnie-the-pooh-bed-tent-11-/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

I don't have a problem with Philips per se......

Just with the DECT phones, which, are very average, similar to the BT Diverse ones I also have. If you have a less than optimal landline, any deafness at all, or even if you have not tried a Panasonic model, you would not know better was available, it is as different as a crystal set is to Hi-Fi ! Panasonic products are usally quite good, but not particularly that special normally, just they seem to have found the spot with their DECT phones

My local Tesco had the following couple of offers instore: Panasonic Twin KX-TG8222EB for £54.95 and Panasonic Triple KX-TG7223 for £54.95. Not sure how good them deals are.

If you're going to be visiting the store anyway (to take the SIM card back), why not just go for the collect from store option?
It'll work out the same price, and you won't have to argue with the sales clerk to get a refund on the SIM card.

Oh, BTW, nice find - heat and rep added.

Just ordered these with a £6 off code making it £43.99 - collecting at store
XXYR8H £6 off a £40 shop July 14 - 20

I also have a colour screen version of this phone, and i have nothing but praise for it.:)

not a fan of philips but this is a good deal with the voucher.

can't see you getting a brand name quad pack with answer phone as cheap

Shame they dont take normal AA batteries like some other makes, i bought a quad philips set 18months ago in an argos deal but 2 of them the batteries no longer charge and finding it difficult to get replacement batteries.

It's easy enough to get these batteries - they are AAA size

Now there is a well priced quad set of Panasonics with answerphone in this thread:

From the description in post it says "Built in Rechargeable Battery Yes "

I presumed that was a typical philips battery meaning when it goes you need a new handset

just tried using the discount code today but it has expired

These phones are absolute rubbish. I bought it last year when these were released as featurewise it was the best phone on market. The first set had to be replaced after several months as one of the handsets decided not to recharge its batteries anymore.
Got a replacement and after a couple of months one of handsets started to reset itself.
The third kit had very bad reception - it was losing network in places where the other two were working perfectly. So I gave up. All three kits were brand new and sourced from reputable retailer.

At the end I bought Siemens S455 (two kits) and this is certainly one of the best phones I ever had. The only drawback is that menus are somewhat sluggish.

As to batteries - SE4354 takes standard AAA batteries without any issues, so there is no problem to replace it.

BTW, to those who said they had Philips phones before and they were perfect - my previous phone was Philips Kala Vox 300 and I had nothing but prases for it - excellent kit and very reliable. I just wanted more features, especially the ability to copy numbers from one handset to another...

My first review of this kit is here:
