Good deal but I still prefer the old spoon in the jar instant coffee, much cheaper. I'm a miserable old sod! Happy christmas you affluent lot.....send me your leftover turkey!:)

Good find

what happens if they stop making the pods for this? can you use other brands in it?

Lidl do coffee pods which fit, think they are £1.69. 4 different ones.

looked like a xmas stocking

Seems to be same price at Amazon for black one with free delivery Link

hot from me....good price....We have one of these ,its a great machine .Had it 2 years ,we use it a lot ,lovely tasting coffee (make it with hot milk).Only thing ,the pods are expensive(2.99 for 16) lidl do cheaper.Isuppose all these machines are very similar in costs to run.

Magnificent machine, will last forever. Still have my blue one at work, had it since it came out. If it ever did break id have another one in a flash. Don't bother with the fancy pods like cappuccino, stick with the regular or get the mug size ones which are better value. Being Philips these are Dutch and every Dutch house is guaranteed to contain a Senseo machine.

Yup, I agree with everyone here. They make great coffee and would buy another in a flash if mine ever broke. I only ever use Lidl coffee pods, and they are great too.

Bought one on these last year as a Christmas present- works brilliantly and agree that lidl pods are great

another gadget id not use after a week lol

Get one of the duck pods, they will then take ground coffee, handy for me as my local lidl don't stock the pods, but other branches do.

Are coffee machine noisy? Strange question i know but when you're up at 6am in the morning for shift work and the rest of the house is still sleeping the last thing you want to do is wake them up by making your breakfast?

same here but still getting it lol

We use the lidl coffe pods and they are nice plus there are 3 flavours to choose from.

I have a mocha coffee each morning which I buy from Ebay.

Interesting - heated.
Nice to see good reviews here and on Amazon.
Which? have not reviewed this (or any other Philips coffee) machine.

Haven't used the proper Senso pods for over 2 years. Lild pods are nicer and cheaper.

Yes it makes a loud vibrating noise when pumping the water through the pod.

It's hardly loud!!
Unless someone is sleeping in your kitchen I can't see how this would waken them up. My electric toothbrush is louder as is my kettle when it's boiling!!

I'm told these are EXTREMELY popular in the Netherlands, and the main online pod shop does a VAST range of pods from a variety of brands. Bought from them once or twice, but P&P tends to detract.
coffeepodshop.co.uk/

The "Senseo" branded Douwe Egberts/Philips range has just been relaunched/repackaged here in the UK though stockists can be thin on the ground.

As others have said Lidl sell 3 different 'single' pods x 16 for £1.69 (crept up from £1.49 over the past 2 years). The 'single' size fills as 165ml cup (ie half-mug size) such as special cups sold by coffee-shop:
coffeepodshop.co.uk/2-r…tml

Personally tend to 'mug' (having had a machine for just over 2 years now), and you can find a few 'flavours' in 'double/mug' size pods x 20 for £4.09 - eg Morning Americano (yellow) at Tesco Extra stores, and All Day Blend (Red) 250g at £4.00 Ocado and Asda.

Ocado being excellent for a major restock with eg the current £25 off a £75 spend with the o2 Priority promo HUKD on here.

The Senseo pods are noticeably cheaper than most of the other pod designs from past research.

NOOOOOO!

Stop tempting me with coffee machines!

(Especially ones that can take cheaper pods, are a quality make, and are a bargain!)

Mine is quite loud, it would wake people up if I used it in the bedroom, but not if I use it in the kitchen.

Anyway they're nice machines, they make reasonably good coffee with little effort. It's typically Dutch filter coffee, very mild, meant to be drunk in large quantities and obviously without milk.

I don't even like coffee and am tempted to buy one!

This site has been so bad for my wallet!

I got mine this time last year for £24.99 also from Argos so this is not quite hot enough to for me.

I buy my pods in bulk from directcoffeepods.co.uk which works out great as the generic brands are just as nice and I got a coffee duck in case I want to use fresh coffee.

Makes a really nice coffee dead quick which is the perfect temperature to drink straight away. It'll only make 2 cups or 1 mug at a time but it's still no slower than a kettle.

Easy to use and clean though it's hardly necessary, but you do need to descale every 3 months.

Mine broke recently, but the customer service from Philips was great. Sent me a new one right away.

any tips on making a cappichuno how could i get frothy milk ?

I prefer milk coffee and Nescafé. Wish machines and pods were universal

If you are on O2, you could use your £10 Christmas Argos voucher and make this £29.99!

I wonder if you could use the o2 £10 offer and £10 Argos voucher that I got free with the kindle last week...any ideas?

Are you sure it's this same 7825 model you got ? This has the descaler LED notification (good for those who can't remember 3 months), a larger water reservoir and a movable spout, whereas the older/cheaper 781x models didn't.

Another tip for Senseo users: the Citric Acid descaler is cost-effectively sourced from John Lewis. A 250g pack, good for 2.5 descales is £2 to collect in store.

I see at the bottom of the page on Argos website that loads of other coffee machines are 1/2 price, are any of them worth paying the extra for?

Can't find the o2 offer either:(
