I had one of these and it was really bad, coffee was undrinkable, pods wouldn't fit so I returned it..really wouldn't recommend

#Tassimo

Had a Senseo, poor quality, Luke warm, lack of pod selection. Sorry OP.

Just to balance these guys out ^ this is a great price for this model, you can buy a coffee duck too which allows you to use ground coffee in the machine and reuse the pod holder!

Had one of these for a couple of months now. Everyone who sees it and tastes the coffee love it and want one too.

I get pods from LIDL and they work fine.

Got my mum one for Christmas. She loves it and also gets the lidl pods.

looks good and the lidl and duck ideas above - result!!

Big fan of Senseo - BUT personally not a great fan of this particular model (my folks have it).
a. The cup/mug tray is a bit ricketier than I'd like
b. The top pad mechanism is bulky and includes the electric controls which seems a hostage to fortune.
Against that
a. Square so seems to take up less space than rounder designs
b. Has a larger capacity water reservoir

Personally would go for the model I have ie Café HD7825 IF you can find it in a HUKD
a. larger capacity water -v- cheapest/oldest HD7814 model
b. descaling indicator & programme

Heat added

Made the purchase now where can I get the duck thingy?

Amazon is best for coffee duck. I love my senseo,

my senseo went band in the fist two weeks i had it, the quality of the coffee is only just ok and the water is not that hot. spend the extras and buy tassimo. better machine and much better coffee + tea choice sorry op

A good price OP, but do yourself a favour and get a Nespresso next time they are on an Amazon lightning deal instead.

The Senseo produces OK coffee but the Nespresso makes stuff you would be happy to be served in a coffee shop.

I got my Nespresso before Christmas for £49 and it came with a milk frother / heater and a promotion for £80 of free coffee which I'm still drinking.

I have this model, also bought from Tesco on this deal several months ago, and I love it. I'm a "coffee snob" and like a pretty strong cup. This does a great job - though stick to the Senseo pods as the Lidl ones are pretty weak, although cheaper. I'd recommend this.

I like purple flowers but im sure you like red ones.........

this post has turned into a preference post rather than observing a good deal. Coffee drinking is very personable and so to rate this deal based on preference seems silly.

the machine is at a good price so well done OP and heat added

I like coffee...
I like having a machine that makes coffee...

If I can get a machine that makes me coffee for less than £30 I'm happy.

Heat

Get some instant and save yourself 26 quid

or you can buy a cafetiere/french press which does that without the useless lump of crappy electronics wasting space in your house ;0

I had one a few moths back, coffee was great and machine easy to use. Only down side is the lack of places that sell the pods for it. Tesco seem best. Personally id put the extra and get a tassimo.

I have a Senseo 7825 and like it. The Senseo pads are better than Lidl's, but Lidl's are passable. I like my coffee with milk, and find that heating the milk for 30 seconds in the microwave first works a treat if you like your coffee really hot.

Good site for your coffee pads, both Senseo and other brands.... http://www.directcoffeepods.co.uk/douwe-egberts-coffee-pods-37-c.asp

Great price for this machine.

Perhaps one with little money, does? Good job this is only £29.

Got one of these a couple of months ago to replace our first generation Senseo. A combination of Tesco special offer and a fistfull of Clubcard vouchers meant we actually paid £6.49 in real money!

Build quality is better than the old machine and it produces much hotter coffee (no need to heat the milk anymore). Coffee Duck is the obvious choice for these which lets you use any ground coffee you like, but be aware you need the specific 'Duck for this model as the original version for the 'round' Senseo's doesn't fit.

Being a coffee snob is NOT the same as being a snob.

One of these plus a Coffeeduck = Superb coffee!

Baffles me why anyone would by one of these and then restrict themselves to those awful pad things.

Get a coffee duck, buy some fresh coffee, and have drinkable stuff instead of the douwe egberts rubbish.

No. You aren't a coffee snob. Just a tad deluded.

A coffee snob wouldnt go near the nasty supermarket brands as they're all stale, let alone pre-packaged pod stuff. And that's without mentioning the fact that this is as basic as machines go. It can only make Americano for a start, and not really a good one at that. Drinkable, but pales in comparison to any basic espresso machine with freshly roasted beans.
