This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

I know this is overkill for a toothbrush and is ludicrously priced but, for anyone interested, this is the cheapest I've seen it by far. John Lewis currently have it reduced to clear for £230 (but unfortunately they will not price match Philips).

As well as the handle, this includes:
- 3 brush heads
- a tongue cleaning "brush head"
- inductive charging glass
- travel case with USB charging
- bluetooth connectivity to an app for coaching

I'm not going hot or cold but that is ridiculous for a toothbrush
Much better price than usual, but yes, it's a considerable sum of money for a toothbrush.
But, cleaning your gnashers with a Sonicare is a good experience, you get good results.

The only question, 'is the £37 markup worth it for the Smart function this model gains over its stoopido predecessor which is normally sold for £99?'

The deal applies only on the black version.

Seems to rely on the smart brushes to change brush mode. Not sure if this can be overridden, if anybody who's already got this can comment?
Handle has two buttons, the top one is the on/off button, one below is an intensity selector. Does the power button have a similar mode switching function if pressed briefly (like the non-smart version) that allows you to cycle through the different brush modes?

Welcome return of the glass beaker. Not sure on the 'deluxe' travel case, if the lead is captive, in which case, once that goes kaput, you're stuffed.

These things are junk, I have paid for 3 over the past 6 years, various different versions but the underlying design is the same. I have been through more than 10, they all break after a few months. Philips know this and will replace under warranty no questions asked within 2 years but they really are a very fragile design. I think I’ll get something else next time. Shouldn’t break so easily for this much cash.
If you want a sonic toothbrush check out Fairywill on Amazon

I agree on the fragility you've touched upon. The minute this thing is dropped you are playing roulette with it being able to work properly.
It will sound like it still works but the motor's bracket mount will either crack or loosen and most of the energy that should go towards moving the brush will get wasted.
However, when it does work, it does do a very good job.

I'm using a Colgate Omron and happy with it so far it's not had much use (reminds me - brush teeth in future).
I was surprised the level of clean you can get from an electric toothbrush. I always push too hard though not great for the gumline.
