thanks
Does anyone know if this has some sort of warning if you brush too hard? I've been advised by my dentist to get one like that as I am apparently brushing too hard and making my gum line receed. Never had an electric one, is this model good?
If you the gum line Is receding you might want to check what toothpaste you're using also
Thank jellybear, he did mention that also. No worries, it's out of stock now anyway, the search continues
Try not to use the arm & hammer toothpaste that has very strong ingredients in it
Best is Colgate advanced
And the oral b Bluetooth toothbrush tells you if u are pressing to hard but most of these are just gimmicks
You will know how hard to press when u apply the electric Toothbrsh to teeth
Cheers
Omz45 - do not hesitate to purchase a electric toothbrush as receeeding gums are berry dangerous and teeth could fall out
I'd also recommend a irrigator ASAP
hx6511/43 still in stock for £35.99 saving £44.00 if it helps anyone.

Hey ellenw that worked for me thanks very much.
Thanks ellenw, I'm going to send back the Superdrug one (cost £36) I bought the other day, saving nearly £10 which isn't to be sniffed at (Xmas present, so it's not been opened).

Just a FYI about the different HX6511 model numbers. The HX6511/44 is the sensitive head (you can use DiamondClean, ProResults or Sensitive heads, just preference really) which is fine as it's being given to a sixteen year-old, her first sonic brush.

I have the older HealthyWhite model (bought two in total after the first died after a few years), though I think this design has issues with the click-button failing over time - seen it mentioned many times in reviews.

My first HX6731 failed when the battery died out after a few years, which is fair enough. The second HX6731 bought to replace it was doing the phantom "turning on and not being able to turn off" fault, as though the touch button mechanism had failed and was stuck. (Annoying as it was 3am in the morning and made some racket!).

Luckily I was in the last month of my two year warranty and Philips replaced the brush handle!

Edit: I was confused by the picture. The photo in the original post is for the HX6731 (the older model), maybe the OP should change it? The HealthyWhite+ which replaced it is HX8911, and has a different design.

are the brush heads interchangable between oral b and philips? I like the look of this but have lots of oral b brushheads at the moment. Annoyingly the oral b doesnt hold charge for longer than 2 days

No the philips brusheads are completely different, but there are some reduced on Philips site, RFF35PHILIPS gives 35%off, 10PHILIPS 10% as well. The HX6511/44 works out now £27.39

answered my own question, by the looks of it a right pain to swap over. Will stick with oral B easier to replace battery couple of years down the line.

I buy the Philips brush heads for my toothbrush, my daughter uses the cheaper ones from Amazon, I must admit I can't tell the difference.
