Gotta be worth £39 if you got a telly with rubbish sound. Philips gear is often decent quality.

Even the most expensive TVs have rubbish sound and small speakers. There's no reason for that now they don't need to be magnetically shielde

No reason apart from the fact TVs are now less than 1" thick.

Ok, but they could be in detachable units either side of the screen. This way you would at least be able to hear the treble without going to the expense of a full satellite system.

Looks like a bargain, great reviews too

Nice, shame it has no sub.

Ordered, and taking off my Clubcard Points, it has only cost me £19.50. I hope it proves to be worth it! :-)

Devoed I paid £79 a few weeks back for this

Maybe they're purposefully gimping the TV sound quality to make us buy these additional soundbars. Or maybe it's more to do with keeping the TVs flat and stylish

Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way, but you can get fantastic flat speakers now, apart from the fact I assume they would be facing the wrong way, ie I presume they would have to be in the back pointing backwards, but isn't that what speakers on flat tv's do now?

Does this work with boost- tesco are being really naughty with this last boost- there are a lot of restrictions and it may fall foul of what they call tv accessories I tried to buy a now streaming box and was knocked back using this accessory restriction -- still there are lots of deals in clothes and headphones.........and cookery happy hunting

Sorry if this applies to anybody here which I really hope it doesn't but you would be an idiot to spend that much on a TV if you don't already have a proper sound system, if you can afford that for a TV you should be able to afford a receiver and some speakers that come to half that and I hope to god the people that make these TV's and put the price tags on know that.

Edit
I dont mean a receiver and full 5.1/7.1 setup but at least a receiver and a center speaker, receivers can be had cheap enough if you dont need all the bells and whistles. I am still quite satisfied with my Sony STR-DB895D even though after ~10 years (If I am remembering right) the only issue I am having is the screen is starting to fade and its become quite difficult to see even in the dark.

IMO they shouldn't really put speakers in TV's at all, if they want to sell a TV have it come with a sound bar as standard which can be controlled by the TV Remote.

mine arrived today but will be going back, it's really, really tall and looks far too bulky in front of the TV. heat for price and deal though
