Is the link working for anyone ?

yes, works fine. any problems just Google - tesco clearance. Great deal for Philips. sounds great and very simple to fit and use.

Does anyone know if I'd be able to connect my existing wireless subwoofer to this/anything other than the sound bar that it was originally bought with? I hate my current sound bar as it is so big it conceals the bottom of my TV screen.

I'm thinking of getting one of these for my Mother, but I know that having to use a separate remote for the volume will annoy her - are there any soundbars out there that can be controlled from the tv/sky remote?

No you cannot

You can get this for £5 less from the tesco outlet on eBay but that's refurbished, still comes with a 12 month warranty though.

I've got this one bought for £39 about 2 weeks ago from tesco direct. loud but lacking of bass makes this average.

Just what I was looking for. Thanks

There is 120W Philips sound bar with sub for £69 also.

Hey bud, you have options. If she has a smartphone you could try one of those apps that work as remotes for everything.

Failing that, the Harmony remote control will do the same job. Expensive for a remote, but it's worth it.

Sorry but 40 watts is probably the same as your telly. I had a 40wstt one and have it away.

Bought one voted hot, but might end up returning. Have been thinking about buying a Soundbar to go with my Samsung TV. As the TV speakers are kinda average. Firstly sounds like 40W is not enough for decent sound ? Secondly I'll need a separate remote rather than sky for volume? No thanks.

I bought an 80w refurb with sub from Sony Centres Direct last week. Price now £59. Glad i got one with a sub, makes all the difference.

This is a similar situation to mine.

I'm not sure, but if the unit connects via HDMI ARC then I think you don't need a separate remote. Anyone confirm if this is correct?

Link?

You can program your soundbar to work off your tv or Sky remote pretty easily. I've done it on mine, there are simple guides that take about a minute to do, just google the make of the model of the sound bar or tv remote

Here you go

Surprised this is so popular, not much use without a sub

Am I missing something? This is only 40w...

Am i missing something? £79 ????

I have the HTL3140 which is very good. HtL3140b

Pretty good deal. Shame the Vizio ones are harder to come by.

Picked one up today. It not bad. Lacks a little bass as said but ok for a bedroom Soundbar

Picked up today. Installed with optical cable. I have to say my TV has better built in speakers than this massive Soundbar. Repacked it. Not sure how I can return to tesco now, since it's opened. Any advice? Anyone?

Just take it back and say it sounds poor/ won't sync TV properly, Tesco are normally pretty good and don't argue about anything

does optical mean you can control the volume on the SB from the tv remote

I'm looking at getting a Soundbar to go with the Amazon Dot and found this thead. I know it was sometime ago you posted this comment so hopefully now you'll have a good idea what the Sony one is like, is it any good and would you recommend it, are there things that annoy you with it or issues that should be mentioned? Thanks for any info.

We are really happy with it, but with hind sight, would probably have gone with a more powerful one. We use it to stream music via Youtube and have to have the volume on full. For listening to internet radio via the Bluetooth function and movies via the optical function, the sound is powerful enough though as we have a fairly small lounge. I've only tested the USB function, that was fine. Depends what you want one for. I would think it would be powerful enough for use with the Amazon Dot.

The only annoyance, and it's a small one, is that if you leave it on standby and turn on Bluetooth on your mobile, eg when going out int the car, it powers up. I kept coming home to find it had been on all day and couldn't figure out why.

For the price it was a bargain , saw one in Curry's, exactly the same for more than twice the price. I see Sony have the refurbs in stock again just now.
