Just ordered online. Not sure what a steam generator iron is compared to an ordinary iron but it looks impressive so fingers crossed

Ironing wouldn’t be a chore anymore and it would save you time.

Just buy Eton shirts and you won’t have to do the ironing

I have this iron and it is absaloute toss worst iron I've ever had, on full heat and full steam it still struggles to iron a shirt and the calcium build-up inside has already ruined clothes by spraying orange watery junk all over my clothes

Have this iron also, can't say I've had any issues like this! Are you descaling it when prompted? May be a stupid question actually as I thought it forces you to after a while.

I've found ironing stuff great though, how long you had it? Faulty product?

Yes I do the calc clean thing every month had it around 2 years now but Its always been the same
Good deal.
Cheaper still, stop ironing

There may be the odd garment that still needs it or if you want to be 110% for a job interview or wedding. But if you hang dry where possible (most clothes I have are “do not tumble dry” nowadays anyway and it’s less energy usage), or if you must tumble then remove before completely stone dry, shake and hang, that will get things pretty reasonable. Then once you wear it, the heat from your body does the rest within an hour or so.

You also get to know over time certain shirts that don’t seem to crease even if you tumble dry them to a crisp (long as you remove and hang immediately) and other ones that crease if you so much as look at them... and buy more of the former

It does seem odd at first, you’re like “no I can’t do this, it’s not right, I don’t think it’s really working and it’s just Wrong not to iron” but that passes and you get better at prevention. I haven’t felt the need for years now.

Steamers are another good option for those things that do need ironing. I find it a lot quicker to wave a steamer around a shirt I’m holding up.

Either you only wear a shirt (?) or Eton shirts do the rest of the ironing for you. If it’s the latter, I’m off to see if I can find a HUKD thread for them!(annoyed)

This is why I love HUKD. "I've no idea what it is but if it's good enough for HUKD, then it's good enough for me!"

Some stores still have stock.
Ask the staff to look it up on their in-store app using tpn number 081529260. They'll be able to see who still has it.
Bletchley have one left and more being delivered on Monday, but they aren't visible on the shop floor. They went to their stock room to find it
These irons are a bit of a faff to set up, and the thick connecting pipe/cord annoyed me so I went back to conventional iron but seldom use as I do like Cloudane, hang up and shake then let body heat take out the rest and shirts just look like ones you have been wearing for a few minutes. Don't bother about sheets and duvet covers as they crease as soon as you get into bed and don't wear trousers that need ironing. Women might be better off with those steam generators that you use on hung garments and curtains. That's probably why they are so cheap now, steam generators I mean.
A few left at the loughborough store...just bought one! Thanks!

No they don’t do the ironing for you but they are crease resistant so you just hang them after washing them wear them! Without nasty chemicals left in the fabric...all my mates love them
