4K and HDR! Good price!

Good for the money, but assuming this is only emulated HDR and brightness is only 350 cd/m² (nits)

Reading through Phillips 6100 series reviews, I find only one specifically for this model - but it has errors, your assumption is correct. It has a Micro Dimming which is described as "poor man's local dimming" but coupled with an ips panel it can't provide a proper HDR output. Pretty much like any TV under £900... Still a great deal for a 4K TV. Interestingly, these models don't have Android TV.

i'm useless with this kind of thing. I m looking for a 43inch tv for our kitchen, was eying up the hisense tv, needs to be smart. Can i ask does it obtain the signal via wifi or do you still need a ariel to provide the signal. 4k tv seems overkill for a tv in a ktichen just watching normal tv.

Had 2 philips tv's . They're not great .

Get the hisense

Ambilight?

WiFi for Catch-up TV / Smart TV content. TV aerial for Freeview. Satellite for Freesat. 4K would be overkill, but 43" is quite large too.

It's not on the spec sheet.

Last Philips I had lasted just over its warranty period and then died ... Avoid in my opinion

Who makes these now. I assume its not Philips anymore.

I bought a version of this philips TV last year, and it is very good indeed for that money, yes it is a 8bit panel, but the 4K and the HDR that is does is simply awesome, and having just played the Forza 7 demo the HDR is amazing, and this is basically cut down HDR but you can still see the difference from a standard tv 1080 tv to HDR 4k TV, and for that type of money it is well worth the price and will last you many years until the 10bit HDR Tv come down from their lofty thousands pounds price at present.

Well worth a punt for a 4k detail alone.

I think it's TP VIsion, a Chinese company bought the TV division, or the rights to licence the name.
