EBAY & CS
You don't get CS from eBay, yer get shafted IF YER A SELLER, full stop, so the short answer is YES, it IS better paying...a BIT extra fer A1 Amazon CS IMH&SO

You could "buy" an item on eBay, OK...a TV for example (an item you already have, but where your set has developed a fault) SWAP the parts (or just strip em) then take a hammer ter the screen, and say to eBay AKA the THREE WISE MONKEYS LOOK what I received tut tut, and it will be down to the seller to pay fer? whatEVER the "buyer" cares to return...even an empty box, I kid you not, and upon arrival? the 3 wise monkeys will say "sorry, but how can we prove this is what was returned"

On the other hand, even if yer not wanting ter fluff about, I'd pay a bit extra fer what I've always found ter be A1 Amazon CS

Nice essay

But totally true
Sorry @adil171, I THOUGHT you said "but totally UNtrue"
Be warned there is noticeable input lag with these TVs for gaming. I really wouldn't recommend this TV if you play a lot of FPS games. My experience comes from recently purchasing the 50 inch version of this TV series (50PUS6703). I directly compared the TV to my 10 year old Toshiba 37cv505d. The increase in lag makes fine-aiming a lot harder and puts you at a disadvantage in online play. It's gotten to the point where I've stopped playing any games that require quick reactions. Bare in mind this is using the TV in game mode with all processing turned off - so it's still there even with optimised settings.

That being said I absolutely love ambilight for watching TV - fantastic for TV, awful for gaming.

I read that if you put it in monitor mode it helps, I don't have the TV yet, so can't test, but all I seem to end up playing these days is Rayman and Lego games, because I'm rubbish, so hopefully it won't be an issue for me.

Monitor mode is more laggy than game mode for me, I checked it again last night. Plus, in monitor mode you have very limited picture settings so you take a hit on image quality. But for your purpose, as you said, it's entirely possible the input lag wouldn't be an issue. To be fair, game mode does drastically reduce the input lag and for non-competitive/shooting games you may very well be happy!

Thanks, it arrived yesterday and I gave it a good run and I think you're right, for me it'll be okay, as I didn't notice. It's a blooming nice TV for the money. I've not yet got to picture settings side of thing. Thanks for the tips on monitor mode.

Good to hear. I agree that's it's a great TV for the price, I absolutely love using it for Netflix.

In terms of picture settings, I picked up these values on the AV forums and they look a lot better than default to me:

60 colour
50 contrast
1 sharpness
60 brightness

In the advanced picture settings menu:

Custom colour temperature
128 red
115 green
110 blue

96 video contrast
1 gamma

I changed to these values in game mode and turned off all post-processing to reduce lag. I use game mode for gaming and TV watching. One other thing, if the TV recognises a HDR signal it'll switch to the HDR version of game mode however picture settings won't be carried over so you'll need to set this mode up too.
