Cold voters please say why.

I had a similar one once. Good for getting up in the winter months. Generally felt more awake when I arose.
Replacement bulb was silly money though ...
(Voted hot, good price for one of these. JL do similar one, but more bucks)

I agree that you feel more awake when you get up

Note this light uses a 100w incandescent lamp which are of course now banned so when the bulb goes well that's the end of that.

Poundland are still selling 100w bulbs, 5 pack smaller size.

You can still get 60w

Yes until Sept 1 2011, but this takes a 100w

Do these take halogen light bulbs?

As far as I'm aware 60w bulbs are physically the same as 100w

So are broken light bulbs, just even dimmer than a 60w.

I'm not understanding why these are so expensive. If you look around the prices on various models are really high. I get that it isn't just a lamp and some are really useful for medical conditions like that seasonal affective disorder. But is this really costing a lot to manufacture or is it more of a gimmick and you're paying a lot because they dont make that many, it being a niche product.

but it works... I got one after seeing it.. was tempted by the one at comet using the codes thing.

the idea of the lamp that it slowly wakes you up over a period of 30min like normal sunrise does. And not "woken" up by a loud noise from a alarm clock. Been slighty deaf here is have made a hell of a difference to me. Had it for 5 days now and my zest for life now changed for the better and I ain't feeling like i've been hit by a bus in the morning.
