can anyone reconnmend some software which will support more than 1 webcam so i can use the software to view several webcams connected to my PC - over the internet.

thanks

Not bad, but you can get 1.3mp webcams for not much more.

usb 1.1??

I was looking at this too: USB 1.1 ??
This is not a very efficient interfaceand would imply it is either very very old, or using aging technology.
We are into external SATA connections now so I would have expected ay least UBS 2.0

Either it refers to the fact you can rotate the lens up and down to point where you want, or it refers to the way you turn the ring on the lense to focus in, both of which this webcam does.

The free version of WebcamXP only supports one camera. The Pro version supports unlimited, but isn't free.

Thanks for the heads up, my mam was looking for one, she will be pleased when I give this to her!

voted hot, might come in handy

I think this is the model and spec. Not 100% sure but can't find anything closer.

A full list of Philips webcams with manuals etc can be found ]HERE.
Hover your cursor over the Model no. for an image of the webcam.

This camera only does 640x480 by interpolation. It's native resolution is 320x240, which is equivalent to the first-gen of webcams.

it doesn't really need a high speed interface when it's only transmitting a 640*480 VGA picture. Any USB2 slot can work with USB1.1, just at a slower speed - since we're not talking about major volumes of data here given the low resolution, USB1.1 would be fine.

I'd probably go for a higher res camera myself though...

I've got one of these but the picture quality is extremely poor. In low light it seems pretty useless.

Got one of these a couple of years back.....very good but dated now..

nope.

If it helps, I've got one off these and always been happy with it... sounds a bargain at under a fiver.

this might help:
I'm not sure 100% but this cam doesn't look like has a built-in microphone.. it's usually sold with a headphone+mic .
In the tech spec (on amazon as well) doesn't specify about the mic.
