Come down quite a bit from rrp, they were £300 on Amazon UK around Xmas, but now at this price it's more of a temptation for those in the market to upgrade their cans.

They are known to be super easy to drive (no amp required).

Considered Philips top tier can.

this liink is just to a forum discussing the phones, there's no real revue. Anyway I wouldn't pay this amount for standard headphones without trying them first. They seem to be an over the ear type which is good imo, but there are many quality headphones around, particularly those from Sennheiser, available for a good deal less
wow what i deal. just bought 20

Gathering from your post you've not tried these particular headphones so why recommend a different brand over them? I've linked to a forum thread where there are real people discussing the pro's and cons so the buyer can make their own mind up, rather than directing them to a biased review. What's to say you would prefer a cheaper set of Sennheiser headphones over them? Amazon allow you to return headphones and make it easy to do so.

Your post doesn't help at all.

Apparantley one of the most fun headphones to listen to. I would love to try these!!
Bought these over Christmas... Amazon Fr lightning deal... £153... and love them. Have owned grados up to SR325i and tried the Senn HD700. IMO these are great headphones. Smooth and balanced with enough bass. They are very comfortable and not fatiguing at all. I would say they are not as good as the HD700, but the difference to me is not that big and at this price they are easily worth the money.
I have these as well and they are stunning headphones, not as comfy as the the Senn's but sound better IMO.
Got these on the amazon.fr deal as well and very happy with them. At this price they compare with the sennheisser hd650 which are excellent headphones too, although the x2's are much easier to drive. While a dac/amp is still recommended with these, you will get away with a much smaller outlay than if you go for the hd650's. The x2's have lots of bass but still maintain lots of detail to set them well above other basshead cans.

The head-fi thread has lots of people getting in a tizz over a change in manufacturer from Woox to Gibson - Gibson being derided for poor quality control. IMO this seems to be much ado about nothing, but the headphones I received from .fr are the Woox version. It seems to be the Americans who are getting the Gibson made sets.

Hope this helps.

Although they're cheaper than before, that's still an inflated price.
They're almost the same price as the HD 600.

Add an amp into the mix to drive the 600's, different price tier.

I originally got a woox pair in the same deal. They had cosmetic defects. Looked like an open box to me .Got a replacement, which was a gibson pair back. They sound identical and the gibson pair doesn't have the same defects. Both have glued pads.
Definitely worth the money. Just make sure you listen to decent quality audio. You can really tell when the audio comes from a bad source!

My box said Gibson and the headband said Woox. I'm claiming them as Woox lol

Such a lot of fuss about a little bit of glue, head-fi can be a very strange place sometimes
Bought it during Christmas. Not a fan of X2.

Too much bass, heavy, too tight and clamp my head, not comfortable if has big head.

Much prefer AKG K702 and Sennheiser HD598 at £130. Sennheiser HD598 sometimes can be found at reduced price even to £80 on amazon.

Got them a while ago, were X2/00's, manufactured by Gibson. Glued pads, which doesn't bother me, but the leather headband was wrinkled/split in places, the metal was coming away on the right side, and a pretty heavy bias to the right, probably something amiss with the left driver. They've been sent back, but like I said if it was just the glued pads I'd have been keeping them, especially at this price.

Thanks for that mate, really appreciate it!

Just checked my headband and box - both state WOOX. I believe this is good news then? haha!

Lucky! From what I've read the majority are Gibson made now. I'm probably gonna hold out for HD650's since I got a dud pair.
