Good spot - considering soundbar sells for £180 on it's own. Heat added.

On eBay for 139 brand new. So at least I'll be able to get 100 back selling it. Good deal OP
am seeing lots of reviews that state they are having issues with the apps / iplayer. Can anyone corroborate or comment on this?

Many thanks.

I think the 6 series had the problems.. 7 and 8 series have a different processor I believe..

Could be wrong.?

have seen this (*maybe not this model but the frame looks indentical) in costco - the frame is meant to have a brushed metal look but its a very cheap looking plastic. the picture quality on the demo video was very good but the cheap looking frame was a surprise.

*after saying that, I still find this deal far too tempting!

Good thing is that frame blends away when the Ambilight is on. Especially at night!

All the catch-up apps are available. You just need to access them via the Freeview Play app sidebar.

I have the 70PUS7304 and there are a few software issues. The latest update has fixed the main issue with backlight flickering. The main remaining issue is washed out colours when using HDR. I'm sure Philips will resolve this soon.
NowTV? Netflix? Prime? I know that some TVs have 1 or two of these but very few have all 3?
Great price and then chuck in the free soundbar !! HOT
Ordered! Time to get the soundbar on eBay
Thank you, bought for my mum who was after a new TV - was either this or a Samsung through unidays but yeah great offer

I think the issue is that the Apps have not passed the most recent security/terms and conditions updates, meaning they no longer work. I currently use a Fire Stick to access these and (surprisingly) the TV remote also works to control the fire stick so it's fairly seamless.

I wouldn't be put off buying the TV though, nowadays there are plenty of low prices ways to access on-demand services if the built in apps no longer work.
You can manually install any apk on this TV, nothing to worry about.
Cracking deal, sound bar looks good too. Shame the 50" is a VA panel

why? aren't the VA panels better with blacks? i went ahead, was looking for a cheap soundbar and tv so this fits the bill...

I just purchased the series 6 for £400 so this is an amazing price (mine was with a 6 year warranty). Series 6 has Saphi as the operating system which is not the best, but OK for what I need. I would imagine android is an upgrade. And the fact you can sync to Alexa = heat!
Love the Ambilight!
Shame the soundbar is a different colour from the TV. That must me off a bit. Mm decisions.
Brought it. My search as finally come to an end. Thanks OP.
Selling the sound bar so technically TV is £300 if I get £100 for the soundbar.

Will suit some people but not others. I need wide viewing angles so no good for me

Google made a deal with Freeview:
freeview.co.uk/cor…ces

As a result of this the full Freeview Play experience has made it's way to the Philips Android TV's
I had to hard reset my TV the other day as they had pushed this out and it wasn't working properly.

I would suggest anyone having issues with one of these TV's hard reset via the "Reinstall TV" option in settings,
after that everything related to Freeview Play should work as expected.

Really happy with this as I bought the 50PUS7334 from Curry's on Black Friday,
Although I knew i'd hardly use Freeview Play due to an extensive Plex library, It was was one of the only things that I felt was missing from the Philips Android TV's.

I'd be snapping this one up for the Living Room if I could afford it.
This is a well reviewed TV on Amazon and Which? Magazine.

Get best settings here:

Can’t comment on Sound Bar though.

VA panels (this 50” one) has great contrast, better than IPS, which gives a better viewing angle.
This will sound like a stupid question but do all HD tv’s have freeview HD built in? I would assume you would still need an aerial to access it in any event? I’m so out of touch with technology I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t need aerials anymore, everything is ‘APP’ based these days....

I’ve got the 7334 which is the same tv as this but with a different remote. I don’t know what broke it but iPlayer has been quite broken for a few weeks. The first time you open it it’s all fine, but once you come out the app and try to go back in, it tends to just give you a plain back screen and doesn’t load any of the apps interface. I have tried clearing all cache and data for the app and force stopping it but none of this fixes it. As a workaround, I just use my phone to cast to the tv whenever I need iPlayer. The only way I’ve found to actually get it working properly again is by pulling out the power to the tv so it fully restarts the OS, but then you end up with the same issue again shortly after. I’ve not had any issues with any apps beside iPlayer to be honest. It’s a brilliant tv and I’d recommend it. It gets more frequent updates than I’d expect for a tv aswell so could be fixed pretty soon with an update
Might aswell put the funds into buying a 8k smart TV. Apparently the new ps5 will need an 8k to get the full benefit so I can see all next gen going down the same route of needing an 8k TV. Of course that's if gaming isn't your thing then this is a good deal for a 4k.
I have this set which has suffered from quite noticeable clouding.

To their credit, Amazon have agreed to replace it for me so hopefully the replacement will be much better.
I don’t know why people are bothered about built-in apps. They’re always better on a fire stick anyway! And it’s upgradable easily. Heat, great TV!

Thanks @holteenderl7 been waiting for a deal on the 7 series. The soundbar seals it!

I recently purchased the 55" 8000 series and the clouding was terrible, so much so I've sent it back and not asked for a replacement.

My 2016 55PUS6204 had similarly bad clouding, and the backlight LEDs are failing (I think seven have now gone).

Can't see me buying another Philips. Hopefully I was just unlucky, this is just my two cents.

There isn’t the sources available for 8k yet, and the cost of the tellies is silly too. Maybe in 5 years or so I’ll get one.....got a 4K LED and an HD plasma, that’ll do.
Guys where can I find a full spec of this telly, i.e. details about RAM and storage etc? Please and thank you. My Google search has failed a little hence asking.
Thanks for posting OP.

Is there a difference between this and 50PUS7354/12 or even 50PUS7394/12? Google is failing me tonight!
Does anyone know how this compares ti LG / Samsung’s mid range TVs? E.g. Samsung UE50RU7400 or LG 55UM7660PLA?

I’m not really sure how to compare mid range TVs.. I’m looking for a general all-rounder.
I have the 7383 from 2018, think the difference is just the remote?
Awesome TV once you fine tune it, excellent value.
