I have been watching this for a while and it just took a big drop of £60.01 today.

Was £250, now £189.99. CamelCamelCamel shows this as the lowest ever price.

The reviews for this system are all excellent :

5 Stars on Expert Reviews : expertreviews.co.uk/hom…120

9/10 on AVForums : avforums.com/rev…596

9/10 on Trusted Reviews : trustedreviews.com/phi…iew

9/10 on Engadget : engadget.com/pro…20/

John Lewis still listing at £249.95 although currently out of stock.

I know it isn't a 5.1 but at this price with these reviews this seems like a steal. Oh and 2 HDMI as well as optical out out this sound bar classes above the rest.

I bought this 10 ins ago for my new Sony TV which will be arriving tomorrow! Late Chrimbo presses!

Great product and price, picked it up for the same price at Amazon on Deal of the Day on New Years Eve goes great with my new Philips TV purchased for Christmas.

Do soundbars really make a difference to TV sound?

I've been thinking of getting one but don't want to waste money on a gimmick.

The reviews speak for themselves there as to whether it is any good.

The grey car? That's a battleship?

Is this the one that you are talking about? The cheapest I can find it is around £150. The specs don't seem as good, although I don't fully know what I'm looking for.

Yes. We always play our TV/BluRay through our soundbar (Yamaha) and the times that the soundbar doesn't kick in before the TV does and we get 6 or 7 seconds of sound coming from the TV it is really REALLY noticeable. Think of it like the difference between listening to music on your mobile phone's internal speaker vs plugging it in to your hifi.

i really want a soundbar for my samsung 50"plasma but do i need to buy a sammy one or any soundbar will fit ?

fragger no need to be the same brand as your telly. The only thing you need to look out for are connections. Normally there are two options: optical and HDMI. The latter being the easiest, this soundbar has two HDMI input (eg. Bluray and Skybox) and one output that connects to your telly. If you need more input you can also connect devices directly to your TV and send the sound to the bar as long as your samsung has an HDMI ARC connector.

That's £150. Hardly £100? It's the old and boring time machine story here. You can't say it's £100 because it was once £100. It's £150.

To be fair I haven't seen that one before though and unfortunately there are no 'proper' consumer site reviews for it that I can find.

There does seen to be plenty of good user experience reviews for it. As there is for the Philips.

So at a price point of £100 it may be an excellent option. At £150 I personally would rather spend a little extra on something that comes universally recommended across the board.

Anyone received there soundbar yet? What's the sound quality like?

I got mine yesterday. Have only played FIFA on the xbone with it at this stage, but even the simple sound from it sounds much better than my tv.

No complaints from me thus far. Needs tweaked a bit but it was rather late and I didn't want to annoy the neighbours.

I received mine and it's up and running great sounds and visually looks good. Setup was simple and really has added some great depth to my tv just need to play with it more to get full use. Not sure on how I get my tv sound through soundbar as I've got my skybox and xbone are connected through the soundbar but if I used smart tv functions like youtube or free view tv it's its not through soundbar

Has your tv got ARC? If so you plug the tv arc out into the soundbar's arc port. Then whatever goes into your tv will come out the soundbar. Basically it makes the tv think that the soundbar is your TVs speakers.

Got offer on flubit for £180, managed to get it just before price increase back to 250.

Still not sure shall I pull the trigger

Pull it!

If you're buying a soundbar get yourself an optical lead to connect to it as the sound quality is crystal clear

It'll be back again. It was a lightning deal at Chrimbo and again before that I believe. Set a stock alert and when it goes ding pull the trigger.
