Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies (3DS) £13.99 from Thursday 20th (Nintendo eShop)

Official Nintendo Magazine reported this morning that Phoenix Wright: Duel Destinies will be reduced to £13.99 this week. Apparently the eShop updates on Thursday (still £19.99 right now), but I'm posting in advance to save anyone spending the extra six quid in the meantime!

Great game. Bought it for £20 when it launched and and got about 25-30 hours of play out of it. If you like good stories, interactive games then this is a game for you

Thanks for the feedback. I've played through the other DS games (Edgeworth Investigations is still waiting, though) and enjoyed them. Paying £20 for a non-physical copy had been putting me off though, considering the others in the series got discounted to £20 or less.

Is this download only then?

Didn't realise it existed, but love all the other games in the series (not got around to Edgeworth either mind)

Very strong return to form for the series after Apollo Justice and Miles Edgeworth were a bit meh.

The animations are great, especially when you finally break down the guilty parties. Just a shame that Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton was actually made before this and has much weaker models and animations.

Just bought some credit for Weapon Shop de Omasse but that'll have to wait as I'll now be downloading this. WSdO will wait until it has a sale.

Heat.

excellent - glad i saw this as i would have been downloading this tomorrow when my 2ds is due to arrive - thanks OP

I was about to buy this yesterday.... Decided I would give the DS games a run through again. Glad I did!

Wish it was a retail release but for this price it would be silly not to

Glad posting it early saved some a few quid - I thought others would blindly go to the shop, see £19.99 and vote down without having read the first post.

I started Edgeworth, then got busy with Uni work, and still need to go back and finish. 20h in to Ni No Kuni at the moment, though.

Good game, but perhaps not up to the high standards of AA3 - thought the final case was a little lacking. Still well worth £13.99 though.

Finally!!

Worth waiting for sub £10?
Any chance of it hitting like a fiver?

Btw not played any of the previous ones, is it ok to jump straight into this or better to play the previous games?

Mediocre game and my opinion the worst in the series, but hot price.

Highly unlikely it will ever be sub £10.
There is some backstory, should be okay to jump right in.

Great timing, was just on the verge of getting it!

HEAT! I was hoping this game would go on sale at some point.

I still feel a bit jaded by the guild double sale, but I can't object to Phoenix.

Thanks for the heads up

Been a huge fan of this series since the first but couldn't justify buying a console for this game alone as there really isn't that much else on the 3DS that interests me but I am getting super tempted now! Is this a permanent price drop or a one-off deal?

They say until the 27th.

Fantastic, I've been wanting this for a while, will be buying it for certain. Thanks for the heads up man. Heat!

Been waiting for a little give on the price myself too. Hot.

The ipad has a none discounted price of something like £12 for all of the first 3 with nicer visuals.

Excellent, was just playing through Apollo Justice before pulling the trigger on this one.

Thanks OP. Looks like I'll be making my first eshop purchase

I played the demo of this a while ago, really enjoyed it. At this price I will buy it for sure!

Nice, I'll keep an eye open this week.

Now that we all have Nintendo IDs, whatever they do, do the games stick with our IDs or if we buy expensive games like this and our consoles break are we stuffed? I object to paying lots of money for games on a console where the games are tied to the system you bought them on...

Not sure if that's what the new Nintendo Network/Miiverse ID system is for, but previously Nintendo could transfer content from another system if you gave them the serial number (meaning, write it down in case it is lost or stolen).

But yes, that also puts me off console download purchases. Not sure about Sony. MS will transfer content to a new 360 but you have to be tethered to the internet to play it from then on. Steam, I can just install on my PC, laptop and wherever else and just login and play (though only one computer at once).

Ugh I really wish we got a physical release. The Ace Attorney section of my shelf is always gonna look incomplete.

Perfect time to finally buy this though I guess.

Awesome

FYI, eShop has updated (it hadn't this morning).

Main game now showing at £13.99 - dlc episode/case still £3.99, as before.

Awesome! Just downloaded it!

How far back does the back story go? I've just played the first case and part way through the second case(turn around sisters) of ace attorney 1 on the iPad(£12 for ace attorney 1, 2 and 3 or £4 each), not sure if I should shell out the £12 for the rest.

I think the games stick with your ID. I took my ID off my sons 3DS and they free game that I had downloaded went aswell. I emailed Nintendo. They said only way to get it back was to link my ID again. My son does not want to see my Mii on his 3DS.

PS3 and vita(I'd assume the ps4 as well, don't have one so can't confirm) have their digital purchases linked to your user name, any ps3 for example which has your username linked to it can access your games but sony have limited it to 2 consoles at a time(used to be 5).

Forgot this went live! Just picked it up!

Was still this price yesterday apparently, but today it's full price, now that I got the chance again to buy it xD So I'm going to buy Dangan Ronpa on Vita instead.
