THANKS GOOD POST

Just reserved mine at the local Currys having seen the original post and now the above.
Many thanks Both

Any advantages over PE9?

Thanks a good price for PE10, especially considering its both PC/MAC. Does this come with stock clip art etc?

Great price.

For those of you who want this to work on digital photos with, please consider Adobe Lightroom first.
It's a lot more money at around £140, but it is exceptionally good.

PS10 does appear to support RAW files though, so if your camera shoots such things then I'd recommend giving that format a go.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 Student & Teacher Edition is only £39.99 on Amazon too:

Actually with version 4 on the horizon, the current version of Lightroom 3 is under £100 (non-education version):

I'd agree with the recommendation, for raw processing and tweaking I find Lightroom much better which is what you'd expect as that is what it's designed for.

If you dont want to spend any money GIMP does a lot

Can you create videos using photos and have backing music to it? Or can anyone recommend any software that does. Cheers.

If you're used to proper Photoshop and you need to have a legal copy for home, GIMP is extremely frustrating and it might be worth the £34.99. That being said, I don't know what's cut out of elements..

I don't believe Elements does as it's for photo editing rather than video. If you're running Windows then movie maker is free and will do you want although it's pretty basic, if you want something more capable I'd have a look at Sony Vegas Studio 11 which I think is a bargain at £18 for a very capable video editor.

Plus 1 for Lightroom..... Amazing for Raw images.

For a low budget Gimp is very good but very basic (but it's free...)

-1 for Lightroom. I tried it and could not get on with it. So went back to just using PSE v9 to edit and Windows to organise.

I recommend you try out the trial first. You may find, as I did, LR didn't offer anything you need. In fact, I found it incredibly frustrating, over-complicated my work-flow no end and just got in the way; it was an extra, un-needed step.

But don't let that put you off trying it. You might like it. Horses for courses. We're all different, etc, etc.

On the subject of PSE v10 - I'm using v9 and apparently there isn't much to warrant the upgrade. In fact, many people are suggesting people give it a miss as the way it names folders has gone US style and screws up the library.

If thats all your looking for the software to do, I'd strongly recommend windows photostory 3, it's quite old now but it's free and is perfect for easily creating videos from stills and adding a soundtrack and text.

Thanks OP, ordered.
