Finally! I've missed out on so many of the Amazon/Photoshop price reductions but have just purchased it for £39.99 (standard edition). Let's see if I can learn how to use it now...

If you are a visual learner you could try Adobe's own videos. They break down the learning into sensible sized chunks and are indexed well so you can spot what you are looking for easily. Adobe.tv Photoshop Elements .
You could also keep an eye on CreativeLive as they often have classes (free when they are broadcast live and on re-runs) such as this one Lesa Snider. If you add a class to your wish list it sends you an email when they are re-running it.
There are, of course, thousands of other resources out there and I know you'll have fun exploring it all

Premier Elements is the same price, or £65 for both

I still find the free CS2 does everything I need so far for astrophotography

No one is a visual learner as it's pseudoscience, not backed up by any credible evidence and is a neuromyth. Of course if you're heavily prescribed to this kind of educational indoctrination, then nothing I will say will change your mind. Although if you have an open mind, read the following >

It is illogical that the mass populace will have multiple singular ways of learning, in reality this would be a restrictive evolutionary negate to learning as effectively as possible.

"A search of the literature on learning styles reveals thousands of journal articles, books, conference presentations, magazine articles, websites, and so on. The sheer volume of the literature may suggest that the hypothesis at the heart of the theory, that matching instructional style to students’ learning style leads to improved learning, has been well studied, but that would be incorrect. Scholars who have taken inventory of this literature have noted that the vast majority of it is theoretical and descriptive in nature rather than empirical and tends not to appear in peer-reviewed journals. Worse still, very few of the empirical studies were methodologically strong and featured a randomly assigned control group. The few remaining studies, including this most recent one, do not support the learning styles hypothesis. apa.org/pub…pdf

In other words learning styles are bulls&^t without empirical evidence.
