Edited as you now get $10 store credit for every $60 you spend so $20 for this deal!

$139.95 for 5 years, but use the code: giftshop15 to get 15% off = $118.96

This is approx £89, or £1.50 a month over 60 months.

I've been looking for a decent VPN deal and can't find anything cheaper at this quality.

PIA seems to be widely regarded as the best going due to the speed, number of servers around the world, and they have been proven to hold no personal information.

Seconded. A few months ago PIA servers were identified by BBC and no longer allow access to iPlayer from abroad. May not be a problem to some, to me it is. PIA assistance (i.e. changing server IPs) has not been forthcoming - check their forum posts.

I'd been with PIA for 5 years but just left them for NordVPN ($99 for 3 years).

So far there are more servers to choose from, the speed is better and I've got access to all the streaming services again.

Hope this helps someone.

Anyone have any experience using this service with torrent, tor network or …Anyone have any experience using this service with torrent, tor network or streaming such as Kodi? Would be good to know some feedback. Thanks.

Ok I'll give my opinion on PIA access and why I moved to them from NordVPN.

While I loved Nord for its reliability and customer support there was major disadvantage for me and that's they don't allow port forwarding on any of their servers.

The reason I moved to PIA access was because I have a Mini Windows 10 PC set up as a torrent box and wanted remote access to manage my torrents with Utorrent client and app. I.e. I needed port forwarding VPN servers to do this.

I could of done VPN tunneling like I did with my Raspberry Pi but in the Raspberry Pi the processor isn't quick enough to take advantage of my possible download speeds, plus it doesn't have a gigabit ethernet port. Henced moved to a Mini PC instead and a VPN provider that provides port forwarding made my life a lot easier.

Also another thing is the kill switch (i.e. if your VPN connection goes down, it'll stop your connection showing your real IP address). Nord does provides a kill switch, but it kills the program you want to use, not the whole network. So I do wonder how quick that is for killing the connection before your real IP is made public. PIA on the other hand kills the whole network to prevent your real IP being shown.

My current setup is this:

1 x Mini Windows PC as a torrent box
1 x Mini Windows PC to store all my downloads on the two 8tb external hard drives (one is the storage - the other does a weekly backup of the storage location i.e. a redundancy if the first external hard drive dies).
1 x Nvidia Shield as my Plex server and client
2 x Raspberry Pi 2 as Plex Clients
1 x Android TV box as a throw in the bag if I go on holiday, friends house etc media player (have a spare 1tb external hard drive if I go somewhere with no internet).

I was going to do a NAS setup, but I saved myself a tonne of money via doing two external hard drives instead.

I suppose the main disadvantages of PIA are if you want access to Netflix USA - Netflix have blocked this and PIA haven't managed to sort out a way around this at the moment. But as you can probably tell, I have no requirement for Netflix

Also the user interface is uglier compared to Nord, but not hard to use at all, just looks like an ugly cousin I suppose

P.s. no problems so far for IPTV Kodi streaming with PIA yet. But I only need Kodi now for watching a famous sport that occurrs mainly at the weekends....

Also in regards to speeds, I have no issue with PIA utilising my full bandwidth. But now I choose to cap it at half in Utorrent at my own personal peak times, so I don't slow down the internet for everyone at home.

Yep, good service. Can also be used on Amazon Firestick
Very good service from these guys into my second year with them. The sock5 proxy also comes in handy..
Yes I would be interested in peoples experience of this service, I was thinking of going with Nord VPN at $99 for 3 years, but this does seem very cheap.
Silly question. I know what this is as a product but why would I need it? Am I missing sonething?

Lots of reasons! Hides your internet activity from ISP snoopers or anyone else for that matter.
I use it for watching Iplayer and other uk services while abroad.
bypass ISP restrictions etc.
SWEET DEAL! I've been using them for 4-5 years already. Good service, no complains. I'll hop on this if I didn't just renew! Wonder if I can just tag 5 years on to the amount I already paid?
Guessing fear of forking out cash for 5 years, when they could go bust next year due to cash flow issues. I'll give heat as ok.price

Interesting that this is getting low votes, and likely to go cold. Wonder …Interesting that this is getting low votes, and likely to go cold. Wonder why? People can't afford to pay £90 up front?

Do not think it is that andy, it is more that there are similar services for X years, that others have already got and do not need another one for X years, PIA offers a lot of advantages for the £ but there are also so many VPN providers out there already, it is a lot to find upfront if you do not really use it all the time...
My 2 year plan runs out next month. I have had no issues with reliability and found speed to be very good. My only issue, which could be on other vpn services as well, is whenever the vpn is on the amount of times I have to enter captchas.

No issues for me on 3 windows 10 pcs. Been with Nord for the past few months so cant speak about the recent update.
The only gripe I had is I've got it on my phone and when I tried to use sky go in Greece it knew I wasn't in the UK. I probably didn't use all the features properly. Help appreciated anybody???

Who are you with?
Anyone else find with a browser it takes about 15mins to kick in? ie Connect PIA, go to AN Other website, blocked, wait a while blocked, wait a bit longer...not blocked. KInda worry my ISP (BT) is struggling against the VPN till the VPN wins!

btw if you are with SKY don't be sirprised they have blocked PIA website! I was with PIA then had a fresh OS install and couldn't get my damn PIA soft as Sky blocked them as 'Anonymizers'.
been using them for 2 years but has anyone else notice the speed being crippled the last few months? i have 7-8 MB/s download speed but when i turn on PiA it drops to 2-3 MB/s and webpage loading times are terrible. its so bad i've stopped using it.
Excellent speed with PIA. I'm getting the full 210mbps my ISP offers. NordVPN gave me less than 1mbps.
PIA provide an excellent VPN product in my opinion. The biggest complaint I have is that this offer cannot be added to an existing one - it has to be a 'new' subscription so factor that in to the cost of the months you 'lose' if you are already a subscriber.
For people starting from scratch this is a really cheap deal. The potential risk is will they be around in five years or will the terms and conditions change for the worse in this time? I currently have a two year sub which worked out at approx £1.60/month from stacksocial.

Hope this helps..Oh and Merry Christmas!

This is a deal breaker for me. I was going to ask if this service is good for Netflix USA, but if the BBC iPlayer doesn’t even work...forget it.

So is this NO good at all with Sky internet connection...or is there a way round that? (Might not be able to discuss that in full on here!)

Sky has installed a censorship tool called the Sky Broadband Shield, which flags many sites as malicious.
Therefore, it is important that you completely disable the Shield, and not just set the age rating to 18 across all devices.
To do this, follow these steps:
1.
Sign in to broadbandshield.sky.com with your Sky iD username and password. If you’ve forgotten your Sky iD details, you can retrieve your username or reset your password online.
2.
Once you’ve signed in, scroll down the page and select Switch off.
Allow 15 minutes for changes to take effect.

VPNs use pooled IP addresses and some content providers know what these are. I've been with PIA about 4 years, used on multiple platforms with good speeds and no issues but about a year ago Netflix somehow realised that I was using one to get their US content here and that's been the case ever since. Now I cannot use PIA servers anywhere for Netflix.
I'm with PIA. No complaints from me. I've just done a speed test for info
With PIA on I just got 7.14 Meg speed. Without PIA on 10.4 Meg (set to Netherlands). Changing location could obviously improve this

Thanks for this
Yep, pointless for Netflix which is why I had a vpn
