Really good deal, will get some for he younger members of the family>

i hate these pick n mix, I always see staff in shops picking up old sweets off floor then putting them back into the tubs! and the kids that touch the sweets with their lovely little hands...

This was on for about a week this time last year so hopefully should still be on if I sneak down tomorrow! Mmmmm

haha...no scales involved unfortunately, set price depending on size of cup. I always squash them down though, gotta cram as much in as possible.

ha, that shows the last time i bought pick and mix

good idea, what are the heaviest smallest pliable sweets?

I used to work in woolies ***cough cough*** years ago and we always say toddlers helping themselves to what was under the flaps, their mum telling them off and then spitting them out and putting them back - our advise was to unscrew the lids of the jar from the top where they are refilled so you know less people have been near them.

As a side note DAMN DAMN DAMN I need to take a trip

errrr!! there is a krispy kreme self serve counter in my local tescos that is equally disgusting. Last week someone opened the door to the doughnuts, coughed into the display, then closed the door again. I know some people don't mind but the general public aren't well known for being considerate so Im not sure why we are trusted with self serve things anymore

Your better going with jellied or foam sweets (they shouldn't have many gaps and compress pretty well) at the bottom then whatever you like as you build up. Before you get to the top find the smallest sweets you can and add a 1/4 scoop and shake the cup. That way they fall into any air pockets. Then top it up with more jellied or foam sweets and force the lid down.
About the only criteria for them is the lid must go on so if you have a use say marshmellows squished at the top, push the lid on and pay the moment you open the lid they should start swelling back up.
Not had a pick and mix for a while, but I'm sure that's how I used to do it.
Its pretty impressive what you can fit into even one of the smaller cups.

Like it,there's definitely a skill to cramming in as many pick a mix in a cup as you can!

only had the bags in my local.

I am the pick n mix cramming queen. Looks like I'm paying a visit

Do u know the Wilko staff never buy pick n mix for the reason that when school kids come in, they use their hands rather than scoops and do all kinds of filthy tricks which I dare not say. trust me, its experience talking, I work for wilkos indirectly but not on their payroll.

Am I right in thinking that Woolworths pick and mix used to have Cadburys Roses?

Ours did; but it had anything and everything in it as our manager used to get any big jars of sweets that had expired and tipped them in; roses, quality streets etc. Then he would write them off as shrinkage.
