Starting this Wednesday for a limited time, Wetherspoons are reducing the price of a number of their drinks, coffee, tea, breakfast at all their 764 pubs across the country. This makes eating and drinking out a tad bit cheaper.

Edit: Spoons have also now confirmed they are going to participate in the Eat Out To Help Out Scheme starting the 3rd of August, which means a further discount in prices.

Details
Menu prices on real ale, coffee, fizzy drinks, breakfasts, burgers and pizzas will be reduced from Wednesday, the company said.

Indicative prices based on the above
  • Pint of Ruddles Bitter will fall to 79p
  • Pint of Doom Bar will fall to 99p
  • Lavazza coffee and tea will be reduced to 65p
  • Soft drinks will be 85p for a 14oz glass of Diet Pepsi and 90p for standard Pepsi
  • Breakfasts will be reduced to £2.24
  • Pizzas, including a soft drink will start from £2.75
  • Burgers and a soft drink will start from £2.50
  • Other meals will be £2.37

At the end of the day if you want to pay extortionate prices for drink and food then go ahead .I have no problem eating or drinking in there.
Wetherspoons is rated as one of the top UK employers year in year out.

I know people have their problems with Tim Martin and are voting cold... I'm lucky, I can afford to drink in my local indie bar at £5+ a pint but there's always Fred and Doris who are on a pension and the only way to get out and socialize is when they go to the local spoons where they can have a couple of pints and a couple of G&Ts for a tenner, and see a face or 10 rather than each others.
I am happy to use the spoons, I have found as many others have, this pandemic has shown peoples true colours, I was one of those whos Boss could not give a t*ss about peoples well being and was greedy whilst others treated staff well, I popped in to the spoons the other day and was very impressed how staff and customers safety was paramount.

VAT was NOT cut on alcohol.
Whatever, it seems to be a 'Hot Deal' to me so well done OP, heat!
If you can find a spoons that is applying covid rules strictly, I'm in. Good beer at a great price. Food, hmmm. Compared with the Green King pub down the road which had crouds outside at the weekend. Madness. Or perhaps I'm overreacting.

New Brighton spoons was busy and well managed on Saturday and I was happy to drink a lovely pint of craft ale... The price of beer is worth paying for... Heat from me.
Super hot.

Not my words - just the news articles mirror.co.uk/mon…837 I wish I knew the prices of all wetherspoons menu items off hand but unfortunately I don't - but agree the newspaper should have checked before posting it.

Download app
Click on a pub. It will ask are you at this pub.
Click Yes and it will give you menu and prices for that pub
Don't forget guys If it wasn't for the likes of wetherspoons you would be paying £4+ elsewhere for a pint.

Remember when he said he was going to stop paying his staff after Friday? He really cares you’re right!
Conversation in this thread is as derailed as the banter you hear in spoons.
Get yourself a naff pint, microwave some food badly, some sticky tables and you've got the full experience.
You could save enough money to do it all again tomorrow

Thank you for posting
A nice chilled out large wetherspoons, with a great app, with pints at 1.70?
Or a tiny packed hipster bar with £5 pints?
Mmmmmm, I know which I prefer

I think a breakfast is in order.

The owners have enough in their bank accounts for many lifetimes, its the staff who will feel the pain of a boycott. The staff salaries indirectly pay for the nurses and doctors. Think deeper, be smarter. You can't fight the system.

What annoys me is that some real ales (like Brewdog) are called "craft" beers so are excluded from the MEAL DEALS.

As with Social Media, there are a small minority of "activists" who seem intent on trashing businesses like Wetherspoons (for obvious reasons)

A decent pint for under a couple of quid has to be an exceptional deal in anyone's book!

So I thought too, at the end of the day the likes of spoons keep the prices for the pubs in check and as a customer I have to appreciate them for that, end of.
A great deal which I will do my very best to use - voted hot.

All the petty grievances people seem to have with certain business on here blows my mind. Your lofty opinions are paper thin unless you know every aspect of a company's character, i.e. its ethos, working practices etc. AND you know all those things about all the competing businesses you suggest are the antithesis of the company you're against.
Additionally, to suggest that the only people who visit wethersoons are those who can't afford to pay £4+ a pint is cringeworthy, and to suggest that those who can afford to pay more than £4+ a pint should support other businesses and not this one flies in the face of competition, capitalism, and basically everything that this site stands for.

When are you planning on going out again?

No plans at the moment.
When you are in your mid 70s and both with health problems the options are not that great.
I renewed my passport in February and ordered the extra pages and planned to travel the world.
I have always been a can do person but my best bet is to sit tight at the moment!

We are very grateful for whatever they can get for us.
I find myself doing all the jobs (like so many people) that I have put off so no time wasted.
WE have never used ANY online shopping as I do all the shopping and like to be hands on when buying.
Thanks.
On one hand I guess people should go to 'spoons as taxpayers are footing the bill for the £48 million hardship loan they're using to subsidise these price cuts and gain an edge over independent small pubs who cant compete on an even footing.

On the other hand they shouldn't because this bloke is revolting and we'd be better off without him and his lowest common denominator business.
