Been looking all over for one of these before Pioneer stop production in 2010

John Lewis retail these at £3,995 (inc 5 year warranty and stand)

Currys £3,799.99 (1 year warranty and stand)

Richer Sounds £3149.95(1 year warranty, no stand)

You don't get a stand for £3195 price but you can pick one up for around £100
To get the 5 year warranty you have to buy from the shop in Bolton.

I understand that this isn't exactly cheap for a TV but it is the very best money can buy and you save around £800 on the list price. You also get the 5 year warranty which is worth anywhere in the region of £300 to £500.

Also due to the high demand for this TV expect to wait up to a month for them to get stock.

or wait a year and probably get it for £2000 cheaper lol

To be fair, you can "wait a year and get it cheaper" on all tvs. I guess this isn't really aimed at people who would wait such a long time for a price drop.

Original Poster

I think in a year it could be the same price, quite possibly more.

But you can never tell with these things.

I am going to buy a Samsung 50" for around £800/900 but this sort of money is beyond me for a tele.

Great if you can afford it, but it will be beyond most people.

Not being funny. 60 inches? LOL.

I will wait 10 years to buy this for £50 quid.

The clue is in the title "with 5 year warranty".

Sorry if I confused anyone with the post. I'm kind of full of nerves about dropping a lot of money on a TV

You can get it for £380 deposit and interest free credit for 10 months. What to do, what to do..

Original Poster

So glad you said that.
I have seen the 50" and was blown away. Not seen the 60" they have one in the shop so I will see it when I go in tomorrow. Might have to get home insurance, SKY HD and a few firebricks to support my TV stand though... Oh and a TV license.

Fair play if you can afford this in your living room, will give a stunning picture.

I'd have it if I had a house to put it in, where is Santi claus when you need him? :santa:

u are great -- this is a deal -7 yrs ago a guy said if i had a 50in tv on my wall a BMW bike in the drive that would be all i ask -- a german dr who had travelled the world over 5 yrs
sometimes if u have it why wait and lose it in stocks or other savings

stunning ... top of my list after my euro millions jackpot win this coming friday ;-)

im really sorry but i have it on good authority that it is my numbers which will be winning this week, again so sorry to dissapoint you,

if i could get a 50 inch of this intrest free how much would i be paying back per month?

Original Poster

As much or as little as you want. So long as you pay it all off in the time they give you.

There is no fee for early payment but i imagine they will slap your bum if you exceed the designated final payment date.

ok thanks what places would do this offer

I don't know, i found at least 2 others while i was searching. I used www.froogle.com mainly but also if you research a TV you stumble across some finance deals.

Be careful not to get ripped off though. It's people like us buying £3200 TV's with little down payments that ruined the economy.

Erm, I mean it was those darn banks, George Bush and politicians...

These TV's are amazing, truly stunning. For 60" this has already come down a lot in price. £10k+ was the price not so long ago, but I think you'll have to wait quite a while before it comes down in price by another 50%.

This is a good price for a top of the range TV.
Sadly, some plebs will vote cold because THEY can get a TV for £399 from Argos.

Voted hot, but far too big for me, heres what im looking at getting
dixons.co.uk/mar…226

For that price i'd expect it to be the worlds best tv...

THis price is pretty good, when LCD/plasma tvs first came out they were like 9 grand for a 26 inch and it was ****.

Great shop Sound and Vision, good advice when I bought mine from there. Not this product but a tiddler of a 42 inch Panasonic.

Also bought amp, speakers etc. The TV developed a fault in the first week or so and it was swapped out no problem.

Will buy my next from them when the time comes.

Is this the same TV for £2,263.00
marwint.com/pro…512

this is the worlds best tv, read around and it's clear. i wish i could afford this or even the 50". these may even go up in price because this will be the last run of the kuro as pioneer say the technology is becoming to expensive, so unless OLED comes a long way in a short time you won't get a better tv for the next few years.

also, as with all technology its going up in price at the moment. i think nikon and sony have increased their wholesale price by ~30%. how long is it before Pioneer follow?

i envy those who get one!

I thought it was too good to be true.

Had one of these Pioneer plasma tvs and it broke in 3 months with big black line come on the the screen.

Never spend out to much for a tv again knowing how easy they can break , i cant my money back and brought a £700 one

I have the KRP 500A. The 50" version with the seperate media box. It is mind blowing in picture quality and when matched with a Pioneer Bluray player the pictures are visually stunning.

The advantage to the KRP is that you only have 2 cables going to the screen but the panels are identical.

If you can afford this it is a fantastic deal. Get them now whilst Pioneer make them. Won't be long before Panasonic take over the manufacturing of Pioneer panels.

Hot!

Dear Camelot - I would like to win this week. Lotto, Thunderball, EuroMillions, don't mind.

How come? Sorry but all Pioneer TV's have 12 month warranty and in most cases, when bought from a level 1 or 2 dealer, a 5 year warranty. You will have got either a replacement or full refund under warranty surely?

FORGOT TO MENTION the most obvious thing of the night, jl will price match s&v - but only if the have them in stock - which im aware they dont at the moment

TEDDYRUKSPIN;5050243

I will wait 10 years to buy this for £50 quid.

A top-of-the-range £2k Sony 36" CRT TV thats 10 years old is still worth about £75 depending on where you live (because you can't post the *******s!) - because for SD they give such a better picture than LCD's / Plasmas.

This is one of the best Plasma TVs you will find in the market at the moment or until the OLEDs become common. The Pioneer Kuro KRP-600 is in my opinion the daddy of all displays.
pioneer.co.uk/uk/…tml

Now the Good Bit!

You can buy this Plasma from any of the Pioneer approved dealers and Pioneer will give you free
5 year warranty! Here's the link to do it:
pioneer.co.uk/uk/…tml
But you have to do it before 30th June 2009. So now check on the Pioneer dealers list, where your nearest dealer is and let Pioneer worry about the warranty.
