Yet they have no proof at all, all they have is "concerned about the risks of allowing any company or entity that is beholden to foreign governments that don't share our values to gain positions of power inside our telecommunications networks". seems like politically motivated rather than any real concern to me.

meanwhile UK is doing mass surveillance which was ruled illegal by the EU, US also having a number of mass surveillance programs, where US tech companys are having to hand over private information, and leaving back door access etc.

Isn't Google doing that already with it without our knowledge Rule of thumb is, if you do not want to be followed, you must be off the net entirely...

Voted hot as no faffing about with cancelling a contract or claiming cashback every three months.

Agreed, I've got a mate 10 pro and whilst it's a good phone the camera is disappointing and I much prefer stock android with regular updates.

pixel 2 has a far better camera and better water resistance.
Opted for the 128GB (White) version from Carphone - 1 month O2 contract, £15p/m, £519 upfront, £50 TCB. Best case (cancel contract within cooloff and not get charged, plus cashback) = £469. Worst case (charged 1 month and declined cashback) = £534, which to me is a better deal

Betters cameras yes, better water resistance no both are rats at ip67
I wasn't gonna pull the trigger, but then I saw the extra 2.50 off with quidco and that just sealed the deal for me thanks op.
128GB for £559, same website

That's a really good deal too. I got my pixel 2 early Jan and I have to say its a truly remarkable phone to use daily.

Doesn't have that initial wow factor that many others have but when you get down to actually using it, it becomes very clear that the software experience is really special.

Oh and the camera is simply stunning

Pixel got 1 more point on the DXO image quality tests which I believe are the benchmark tests for mobile phone cameras, both Mate 10 pro and pixel 2 have some of the best cameras available today...

Pixel 2 actually gets 1 less point for still photo quality compared to mate 10 pro but scores a couple more points in the video quality giving it the 1 point extra overall.

Pixel 2 actually has slightly inferior still image quality and slightly better video quality. They are both rated the same for waterproofing. But the mate 10 pro looks loads better.

Much as the manufacturers themselves like to advertise their DXO score, the reality is that the whole site is a load of bunkum. The scores don't reflect real world use at all - look at phones like the Xperia Z2 that was (according to them) the best camera phone in the world at one point, when the reality was that it was a potato. That's not to say that phones with high DxOmark scores aren't great but the Mate 10 Pro absolutely doesn't have a better camera than the Pixel 2 by any stretch - much as it is a nice device in its own right.

Too big

It's pretty much exactly the same size as the Iphone x, just better...
Just bought the 128gb version, Google price-matched when I shared details with their live-chat team and will refund the £170 difference after I receive the phone.

Google's customer service has been exceptional for me in the past so would definitely recommend this as I haven't used mobiles.co.uk personally before.
I got pixel XL some months ago it's a good phone but now the battery doesn't last long and original charger doesn't work reboots at least once a month bit disappointed tbh

There's probably several reasons to favour either. I completely understand the draw of the Huawei in terms of features; however for me the 3yr guaranteed OS updates alone would swing it for the pixel.

Do Google usually do this. Would be very tempted to get it the 128gb model direct from Google at this price.
Have Pixel 2 XL. It is brilliant.
Anyone had a Google phone that's lasted as long as the contract?

Well I'm typing this on a Nexus 4 that I've had over 5 years now! Battery life is worsening by the day though.

Wow to think about it only my Nexus 4 lasted the full contract and that only lasted cause I replaced the screen. Nexus 5x got the boot loop and now my current phone (pixel) is playing up, mic stops working all the time and I've got to reboot the phone and the phone reboots on its own some times

Pixel XL or pixel 2xl?
I haven't managed to flatten my battery in a day yet, in fact I don't always charge it at night because it lasts so well. (2xl) I would consider contacting Google support and finding out what's wrong on your phone mate.

Actually, the Pixel 2 XL is quite a bit bigger.
Anyone found the pixel XL 2 128gb, cheaper than £559?
