Pixel 2 XL £772 & Pixel 2 £602 PLUS quidco @ CPW

Was looking to buy a pixel 2 and found a way of getting it cheaper with Carphonewarehouse 1 month contracts

The link is for the pixel 2 XL but on a month one contract you pay upfront £759 and £13.99 a month for the sim.

However, becuase its only 1 month contract after a month cancel the contract and you have a sim free google pixel 2 xl for 772.

Also, as this is a contract you will be eligible for £50 back from quidco bringing total down to £722.

Same logic works for the pixel 2

Google's phone pricing is absolutely nuts. They've gone down the Apple route, which is extremely disapponting imo.

Question is who'd want a Pixel 2 XL over a Note 8, except perverts who like squeezing things.

So you get the cashback guaranteed even though you cancel the contract? Me thinks they’ll cancel it

The contract is only for one month, after a month you can end the contract, you are not ending it early

They need to fix all the issues first.

Have been asking myself the same question. The note 8 is faster, better screen, headphone jack, faster charging apparently and the price point is near enough the same. Would definitely stay with the note 8.

No display port over USB c , so cannot connect monitor or TV like Samsung S8 or LG V30 . Big negative

How Google think they can price their 'second' flagship phone at this price is nuts.

It's basically a HTC. No earphone jack? No wireless charging?

I wouldn't really say the Note8 is faster, both CPU's perform about the same, but Google's OS is optimized very well for the Pixel2/2XL, plus TouchWiz is a pretty heavy skin on android.
However, I do agree, I'd go for the Note8 over the Pixel 2 XL. More RAM, S-Pen, bigger screen, better looks (imo), much better screen. However, the Pixel 2 has a better camera than the Note8, a bigger battery, and a smoother OS (from what I've seen) so it's really up to the buyer.

Lol! What's the betting Pixel 3 will be the third most disappointing phone of all time? Or it could surpass 1 & 2 to become the most disappointing one of all time.

Need your bumps feeling if you buy one of these now with the almost daily growth of problems..

Bring back the Nexus phones !

Glad to be paying approx 500 quid less for this TBH

Only use mobile cameras for social media and I would imagine 500 quid gets you a very decent standalone digital cam these days....

I'd never buy a phone from a Chinese website. It's not like the 8 quid yeelight bulbs. A £200 phone with zero warranty is a big no no...that's if you get it in the first place.

better stay with iphone, my 4 years old 4s still very smooth

Don't avoid conflict to appear virtuous.
The note 8 destroys the pixel 2 xl in nearly every area and where it doesn't it is a wash.

Does the cost not reflect the fact that Android on this will be kept up to date with patches and new versions?

Quite a few. Sony Z3 Compact, the water resistant port came loose. LG G4 boot looped. HTC Desire, screen became unresponsive. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, over heating. Galaxy S6, camera kept failing. No smart phone is perfect under heavy use and I think it's wiser to buy from wherever the repair or replacement process will be easier.

It's easy saying buy on credit card and job done, but the reality of the process is very long winded if the company wants to mess you about.

Good Lorf, I have a feeling you have been very very unlucky, chosen very badly or are fibbing .I've never bought flagship models, had countless new mobiles since their inception and not one has malfunctioned whilst i had it. Moral of the story? Stop getting ripped off buying flagship phones!

Fibbing? Seriously? Like I said I'll stick to my products with actual warranty. Thanks.

Yes, the 2012 Nexus 4 still runs like butter on Lineage also.

Not any longer than they've supported any of their other devices. Two years guaranteed after that buy a new one of your want updates.

Oh, the joys of capitalist consumerism.

Worse battery, custom software, worse camera, no unlimited photo storage, and annoying curved screen (that last one is subjective of course)

Did you actually buy this and claim the quidco £50 handset/contract offer ? Did it track okay ? Just wondering if the same £50 quidco will apply to a much cheaper phone/1 month contract sale
