Design matters as well as specs when you're paying a premium for phones these days.

As long as the specs are top tier I don't care and how is it even possible to purposelessly mess up a phone's design
I so wanted the Pixel 4 to be great. I loved my Nexus phone and I do like vanilla Android. However, read the specification, saw things such as 64GB and no expansion. Saw the price.....upgraded to a Galaxy S10e instead. Wont mark this down, some people will want it. However, colour me disappointed.

I didn't imply the design is messed up but it's out dated as modern smartphones are near enough bezel-less. This promotes more screen real estate and better entertainment consumption. But Google Pixel phones are very well made, especially in the software department.

Right, I don't care about "bezel-less" no-one should really

Why not?
Ordered this before i saw this.
Personally after using 2XL for 2 years im still into Pixel, especially without notch.
Those who never used pixel phones or nexus will not understand why i choose again.
The same is with iPhones fanboys
As long as O2 is good in your area this is a better deal, double the data plus you can get £40 cashback with Quidco. Without cash back total cost is £1085, with £1045.

Not only don't they allow storage expansion on top of the puny built in storage, but one of the key reasons for getting a pixel (unlimited Google photo storage) has also been removed.

Google were all about great value in the Nexus days but have become absolute scrooges with the Pixel.

Thankfully Android offers many value for money choices, plenty of decent options available for half the price elsewhere.
Thanks to Google for removing any lingering desire to own a pixel.

Post it as a deal and reap in the karma!
I thought we were meant to vote on whether a deal is good or not, not if we like the phone or not?!

Anyway, decent deal compared to what else is out there.
For info, I am out of contract with EE and got retentions to do £39 p/m for 30gb, but as a Smart Plan, and £100 up front. Delivered today.
Just got the phone today and I must say I'm 50/50 with it so I think it's going back. Face unlock is great but it won't work with any apps so far. No nationwide no PayPal no eBay.
For me that is a deal breaker and no fingerprint Google? Nice, photos are not much better than 2xl that I had.
I can't go iPhone, I ve promised myself that I won't do iPhone. Huawei it is I suppose
Might be worth waiting for Black Friday with them. Really good deal on Pixel and OnePlus phones last year.

Re: Face Unlock...but you still get the option to use a PIN to open apps etc right? Just checking as family member is interested in this phone and I don’t have a clue when it comes to Android. Thanks

Yes it goes straight to pin. No options for face unlock. PayPal now wants password, I just used to use fingerprint.
I ve had 2 nexus phones and 2 pixels before but pixel 4xl is definitely going back.
Camera is good but that's all really

Checkout the OnePlus 7. I'm a long time nexus/pixel owner from the start but can't help being disappointed with the way it's going. The latest offering doesn't warrant an upgrade from my 2xl for the outlay by any stretch

I'm looking at Xiaomi 9t pro, it gets really good reviews and is a lot cheaper. I have considered one plus though, but still undecided

You have just killed the dream for me. I have a pixel 2XL and the fingerprint reader is my favourite feature, I assumed they had carried it over like they did for the 3. Think I will stay put on mine current handset now.

Thanks

Yes sorry. I made the mistake of selling the pixel 2xl and now im stuck. I ve already made arrangements to send it back but there is nothing else that i want.
I wish i hadn't sold my 2 xl.
Battery is very poor if you keep on ll gestures and ambient display, camera in my opinion is not any greater than 2 xl.
I really don't understand what Google were thinking. I skipped 3xl and i was so excited about the 4xl but now im stuck.
Im still looking for reasons to keep it as i have no other phone.
Poor battery, poor screen brightness, same camera as before, no fingerprint sensor, face unlock not accepted on other apps .
These are the reasons for me to send it back

Thanks for the feedback. I have owned a few pixels, and was looking forward to the 4xl. The battery is bit of an issue as is no free unlimited storage.

I currently own a mate 20 Pro but I really don't think the Camera is anywhere as good as pixels. But the battery life is pretty good.
