Yeah the pixels range is going to have drop much further. They have great cameras and stock android but there three competitors apple, Samsung and Huawei have better overall phones. And more desirable and have better resale value.
Another £150 reduction needed...

Desirability is subjective matter @AnkerMan

(I lust after this, at right price; but that's just me)

Desirability is objective and can be quantified. I am the only person I know who has a pixel. Majority of deals on this site are for other brands. I have spoken to mobile phone staff who literally never sold a pixel in store. The price drop on pixel 4 was very fast and it will continue to fall. I could probably find other metrics like overall sales to double done on the subject that relates to desirability.
£699.99 gives you S20 overall a much a better device with double the storage and micro sd card expansion by waiting for three weeks from now. Also there are much better options like P30 pro or Mate 30 pro which is coming to UK very soon.

Lol your comparing last year's model. The topic here is about the current generation. Any phone will generate heat if the price bottoms out. Even then it doesn't mean that the mobile is desirable, only that consumers are being practical in their spending.

Well I thought we were talking about Pixel phones' desirability. I don't think 3a price has bottomed out yet, I believe it should be around £250 to be really competitive right now: many better-specced phones at that price point, but of course Pixel sells mostly software, especially in camera app

If people vote hot, it's because it's desirable. No workaround to that

You cant use HUKD as a gauge for overall desirablity when there are millions of other comsumers who dont use sites like. Also every postivie click or point for a product here is not representative of a guaranteed purchase. IF your basing a products overall success at HUKD, then i finsihed debating with you.

HUKD users are normally better-informed than public at large, as forum is very informative. As social media platform, it's a gauge of consumer interest. It's not surprising that sales of 3a line have been very good, especially in U.S. - that blazing deal confirms a strong consumer interest, when product reaches lowest price so far in market - still to bottom out imo, in the end not yet 1 year in market, not 'old'. Further depreciation inevitable I'd say.

Anyway this is not a debate, just an informal exchange of views. But because this deal is about 4xl, I guess we've diverted from main focus - not that I think OP and those following thread will be offended, hopefully not the case...

the % resale value is the same on iPhone and pixel. You get more back for apple but it only equates to the more you spent initially.
