Think this has dropped in price by Google in the US so I imagine eventually the price reduction should come to the UK cause they simply haven't sold anywhere near the numbers they expected too.

Yeah if your after one hold on and hopefully the Google store will drop it and at least it's a reputable store and warranty cover etc. Google's customer service was excellent when I had a few Nexus devices.

I'm currently using a Note 10 but if they reduce the pixel XL to a decent price I'd be tempted.
Same price at Amazon Germany
Not voting either way but im just slightly confused on a 64GB variant with no SD card slot for £500+

Android OS normally takes up 5GB? Photos, Videos, App storage etc

i feel like there is very very little room to play with in terms of memory for a 64GB device, like i know everyone is different in what they use their phone for but my storage atm on a 128GB phone is already at 100gb on a conservative level.
Any idea if or when the official pricedrop will happen here?

You get unlimited hq photo storage with pixel so you are covered for photos. Problem will arise if you carry huge playlist and install a ton of app. This should work fine considering light to moderate usage, and availability of cloud storage!

End of may possibly... considering pixel 4a release

Ahhhhh i see, forgot about that. yeah that'd be my issue as i dont really use my phone for pics & Vids so most of my storage is used for App memory, spotify playlist and YouTube Downloaded vids.

Just checked and just my App's already take up 60GB of memory

This is similar to pixel 3 deal £319 back in 2019 jan. never went under £319 afterwards.

I've had the 3a XL for a year, which is also 64GB, and I ran out of space a few weeks ago and had to start deleting stuff. This is despite the unlimited photo storage Google offer.

I'm waiting for the 4a and if it's 128GB I'll probably get it.

Pixel 4 is too expensive and has a relatively small battery (though apparently the software updates have improved this somewhat) and it's only 64GB storage.

Not quite true,
hotukdeals.com/deals/google-pixel-3-64gb-in-black-3453420

Plenty of supply of Pixel 3 family in market atm, easy to find it for £300 on eBay brand new or close, plenty of used auctions (got my 3xl for £230)

I thought Google stopped doing the unlimited full resolution storage for photos and videos on the pixel 4 devices?

I agree. I've got a 256gb phone currently and for me, 64gb is a non starter. It was annoying Google killed off SD cards, in the name of user experience / margin!

Appreciate it's plenty for lots people, e.g. like my Mum. Although she still doesn't 100% trust that the photos won't be deleted when Google Photos frees up space.
64gb for the price of this phone is an insult. I say this as a fan of the Pixel.

Yah you will get ample amount of deal when it’s not a flagship anymore. I am referring to time when pixel 4 was not in the market
Not bad but its been cheaper, got mine from JL for £480 after cashback (paid within 10 days of ordering). Not going to vote but I imagine this will get lower sooner rather than later.

I think i had every nexus phone available and those were literally the best and cheapest (from a value prospect)

Google Nexus phones used to be the flagship killers, getting equivalent specs & performance for roughly half the price of a Samsung Galaxy.

These days they charge flagship prices but dont even live upto flagship specs or standards, did a complete 180 once they got enough people on android and cared more about the £ instead.

going from having every single nexus phone to not ever owning a pixel phone and now its in its 4th Pixel iteration is saying something

I agree with this 100% loved the Nexus phones owned a 4, 5 and even the massive 6 and the 6p then moved to Samsung.

You're quite right but... Google Photos - totally free backups, just have to agree to their compression which is actually quite good. Then you can delete the photos from device.

The only niggle I have is that videos are compressed to 1080p, so no 4K backups - but I'm being greedy now!

Edit: I've seen this has been stated already, sorry!

I had a Nexus 4 in 2012 bought it brand new for hmm £279, had a Samsung S2 before it, I did not notice it being any better than the S2 it replaced. I didn't buy any more Nexus devices after the Nexus 4. I then bought an S6 and then an Xperia XZ, now I have a Pixel 2. The Pixel 2 I did notice being better than any previous phone I had. However it hasn't aged well and the performance in 2020 is very ropey, I need to charge the battery twice. However the Pixel 4 is a massive price failure from Google, it was £300 - £400 too expensive for what it is and lack of support for the Face Unlock and no fingerprint scanner is a massive flaw. There's ways around with password managers via Face Unlock. The Pixel 4A nah don't like anything about it, very average. The Pixel 5 rumours are also horrible.

I was impressed with the Pixel 2 for the first year after that it became a bit of a dog, I paid £500 which thinking about it was mental money to pay for a phone and it just got worse from there. All the phones I've tried in work such as S10 and Oneplus 7T are slippery glassy ugh. So for now I'm stuck with the Pixel 2 which I can live with, it still has features that don't exist on other Android phones, so I guess Google have me trapped in their ecosystem now.
