Pixelmator app for Mac does replace Adobe Photoshop software for me and for many others who do need photo re-touching, manipulating programs. Adobe's PS monthly subscription alone is £8.78
Try for yourselves:)

Pixelmator is a very good program and can be considered one of the best on the Mac and for its price you can't beat it. I know some people think the Gimp is better but it's got the worlds worst interface.

The major issues on Pixelmatpr are their slavish adherence to Apples new UI guidelines, so the Save As option becomes Duplicate or some such nonsense and they love dark grey writing in black backgrounds. Can anybody see a problem with this?

Worth noting this is normally £20. Black Friday promotion.

Buy it using an iTunes gift card from PayPal Digital Gifts for an extra 20%.

I've had this for years and beats the free offering like Gimp. I really like it and paid quite a bit more than this for it. Hot!

Paid around £40 for this at the start of the year. Agreed that its a must for anyone who owns a Mac and is into image editing. Free updates too which is always a plus. Heat!

Photoshop Elements would be another option, no?

Nope, I think the cheapest you can get it for is about £30

Looks good, but a couple of reviews complain about the all black UI and the small size of UI elements and an unwillingness on the part of the developer to make the black UI a configurable option. Given that, and the horrible black background on the app's iTunes page (which makes the text in white look quite pixellated) I think I'll give it a miss. Thanks for posting though!

Agree. Cannot argue with functionality of the software and of course- the low low price of 3 pints of beer:)

P.S. Still very very good software for what you'll spend on Adobe. Sorry Windows users
