Yes it is cheap hence why I posted it. This was Swansea Asda by the way. They also had The Office boxset for a fiver and a couple of other bbc boxsets which I can't remember also for a fiver. Gavin & Stacey season 2 I think was a £5 too.

Excellent Price if thats the case. My local is about 10 miles away so will wait and see if anyone else spots this deal first before trekking there for nothing.

It's possible it could be this cheap. Fopp had it @ £8 recently.

no way man

awesome price, fantastic series. although it is even better in HD

Brilliant price, just sold this for £15 as I upgraded to blu-ray (totally worth it)

Got a reciept?

aftet seeing planet earth in hd theres no way i could go back to a normal dvd, regardless of that this is infact a very hot deal.

I have it on HD and it looks great but you lose the Diaries bit at the end of each episode. The DVD version through an upscaling DVD player looks great as well

non in minworth

Nope, I didn't buy one as I already have it on DVD, just thought I'd post it as it was bound to interest others who don't own it and would want it!

i got it on bluray from my aunty Mini

Confirmed at Park Royal.

Any others?

Sold out in Gloucester, none left on shelf but £5 tag was there.
Great price

though not all of it is shot in 1080p...think most of it is shot oin 720p anyway, so blu ray is only a bit of an improvement

Paid £9.98 for this boxed set on Amazon last week so this is a great deal.

Might have a mooch down to my local to see whats on offer there.

Cheers for the heads up, will be back shortly.

EDIT: Scanned the shelves for several minutes. No success.

Well done to anyone who managed to get one.

and how many people do you think only have 720p sets? I bet more people have 720p sets then 1080p and thus will look amazing and the 1080p wouldnt make a difference to those.

what has that got to do with it
thats like saying if I drive to the shops it takes 10 minutes and you saying but if i dont have a car it takes 30 mins....totally illogical and irrelevant......
For those that are really stupid, I was stating a fact that its not all shot in 720p, so for those with the blu ray version and a 1080p tv's (certainly those over 50in) dont expect all footage to be in 1080p

I've got the 1080P versions and have watched all on a 40" 1080P Samsung TV. That same TV has also seen the DVD version too... HUGE ******* difference! It's like night and day. I was unaware of the whole series not being shot in 1080p (are you sure about this? source?), but I assure you it is far better than a standard DVD in terms of quality/definition.

The back of the blu-ray box states 1080i, so in terms of progressive picture quality, the highest you'll get is 720p.

Just done some researching and apparently all of the main programme is 1080P. It's the 'extras' and initial logos etc that are 1080i. Apparently since there's even just a fraction of video that's 1080i, BBC just use that figure to cover themselves for false advertising.

Good topic about it here:
avforums.com/for…tml

Just re-watched some of my Planet Earth, and there's no chance in hell most of the actual footage is not 1080P. I've seen hundreds of 720p & 1080i's on my TV and none of them compare to the quality of the Planet Earth BluRay. Apparently there are 1 or 2 scenes where the video is 720P upscaled to 1080P though, for instance, the scenes where they are in the heli-balloon contraption and flying around the huge trees. But 95% of the series on BluRay has got to be 1080P though, as the quality just isnt anything less...

Can confirm! Fantastic deal!

I bought the last copy from Fosse Park Asda in Leicester, although I think they had more in stock in the back room. I guess they will have them in the Oadby Asda too!

Just got last one in stevenage.
Thanks OP
