A fantastic series, and a bargain at this price. If you've not got access to a Bluray player, this is a hot deal!

holy crap that's cheap, I paid £25 for mine, then £11.99 for my mate, this is a total barg!

Should be able to (legally) download the 1080p version for free, seeing as our excessive license fees paid for this to be filmed in the first place.
I'll never buy anything by the BBC while their execs are soaking up our money.

Not voted either way.

I agree and disagree. I'm sure the budgets that were set aside for lavish productions such as Planet Earth were based on selling international broadcast rights and the sale of box sets.

If it helps to fund future documentaries of this standard then I'm all for it. The Blu-ray is arguably worth the money as it acts as a delivery and storage mechanism for a huge amount of data.

Edit: Apparently Discovery and NHK financed 60–70% of the cost of the series (£16m), so you can't really expect the BBC to give it to you for free lol.

Should be Attenborough.

Attenborough thank goodness! The poor Americans got Sigourney Weaver instead.
Just for a laugh, I would love to see Attenborough replace her in Alien lol.

Incredible series. Looks amazing on Blu-Ray but, as stated, if you don't have access to one then this will more than do.

Can't see past the blu ray myself, but if you really don't have a player in this day and age then I suppose this would 'do'!

anyone know if this is nationwide? i saw this in 'bargain chart' last week in romford, but it was £20?

Saw a couple of these for a fiver at the Royston branch early this morning. Was after Star Trek on BR but all gone sadly.

I think I will ask Asda if they will price match?
Tesco's is 10miles further for me.

This box set, but on HD-DVD is one of the reasons I still keep the player for that format!

What format is this on? Good price nonetheless, but holding out for blu ray otherwise.

1080i on box but pretty much most of it is in 1080p.
I think because there were 1080i elements they displayed the lower resolution on box.

Hi all grabbed 1 of these today at culverhouse cross in Cardiff
still had a few left but was marked up at £10 scanned at £5
hope this helps

That's what happens when you talk to too many Americans. Will be sure to spellcheck future posts with it set to UK instead of US :p.

scanned at £19.99 at tesco blackpool

Still had just one on the shelf yesterday at Bristol (Bradley Stoke) store. £5 - bargain!
