Saw this in store on the shelf but gave me a sealed copy when taken to the till. Although it's HD DVD and not bluray, i can still watch the whole series in HD and not spend mega bucks on the bluray version In-store only, as it's £38.93 online.

From the team behind the multi-award winning The Blue Planet comes this epic series celebrating the Earth as never before. Embracing the world's incredible landscapes and fascinating wildlife. Planet Earth takes the definitive look at the diversity of our planet.

Four years in the making, with a budget of unprecedented proportions. Planet Earth has stretched the boundaries of natural history television. High definition photography, revolutionary ultra-high speed cameras and detailed images from the air enabled the series to capture the most amazing footage ever seen.

This stunning television experience combines rare action, unimaginable scale, impossible locations and intimate moments with our planet's best-loved, wildest and most elusive creatures. From the highest mountains to the deepest rivers, this blockbuster series takes you on an unforgettable journey through the challenging seasons and the daily struggle for survival in Earth's most extreme habitats. Know what you mean. None of my locals sell BD's. Only one near work does.

Great series! Perfect for watching you have a hangover! Heat added

Conrats on finding what is likely to be one of the last copies in the whole of the UK

worth every penny, this show is fantastic, especially in HD

£10 for an obsolete format...Not for me thanks! No vote! Would I get a vote if I found a deal for Minidisc Albums? Probably not...

You would from me, I still use MiniDisc at home

In fact, the Vinyl LP's I bought in the 1980's are still playing fine too and sound just as good as the CD I could go out and buy today. There really is no need to get hung up on whether a format is obsolete or not. I still buy movies on ]LaserDisc LOL!

For those that have the hardware to play it, this is a bargain at a tenner. I have hung onto one of my HD-DVD players and a handful of key titles like this one as it seems daft just to pay between 3-5x as much to replace them on Blu-Ray. But I have to admit that i'm currently selling off the rest of my HD-DVD collection on eBay. And the more obscure titles are fetching far more than I paid for them, so there's clearly still some demand for this niche format from collectors.

H&R from me.

Pointless comment. Thousands of people still have hardware to play HD DVD's including myself so it's a valid format to me and all those other people.

this is a cracking documentary. I downloaded the hi-def set....its awesome to watch every time....

Edit : and by downloaded, I mean I purchased a fully licensed original disc set :-D

Fair points!
